Chapter 31

Allison's POV

I pulled up in front of their house and knocked.

Nancy answered the door with a big grin on her face before dragging me in for a big hug. I wrapped my arms around her as she let out a little sob.

I pulled away to see tears.

"Don't cry Nancy." I said wiping them away.

"I was terrified that we lost you."

"Can't get rid of me that easily."

"Guess not. Stubborn as a mule you are."

I smiled at her as she brought me to the couch and sit me down.

"What's wrong?"

"They told Roxanne about Vulture."

"Ahh. I heard about that craziness." She said.

"And you know what happened?"

She gave me a questioning look and I'm sure tears started showing on my face.

"My father wouldn't even look or touch me and I AM his daughter."

"He's just hurt."

I shook my head.

"He never acted like a father to me. He let my mother treat me however she wanted but they both loved Roxanne so much. And on top of that. After telling her and she stormed out the house and he stormed out the room the only thing she could say was it could've been worse."

She sucked in her breath.

"I'm sorry."

"I'm not even upset for me. She ruined so many people I loved because of her secret and it was like she didn't even care. It was nothing to her."

She sighed and sat next to me.

"I know it's a lot Alli. But watch it'll all work out for the best."

I cried a little into her shoulder before asking here where Roadkill was. Only to be to be told he was at the shop.

I missed the shop, but the doctor told me that I had to wait about a month before I can go back to work. So, everything will heal properly and less risk of infection.

I stayed with Nancy and even helped her with dinner. I ate with them before Nancy took me back to Bella's.

When I got there the house was quiet and I was the only one home. I looked at my phone to see nothing from Reaper.

Ever since I woke up, he was by my side but distant. And he wouldn't even really touch me. I bet he thinks I'm damaged. I guess in a way I am.

I stripped out of my jeans and put on the sweats I was wearing earlier and slid into bed. I didn't even realize how tired I was until I woke up the next morning.

I could hear movement in the kitchen and I got up to see what Bella was cooking.

I instantly smelled the pancakes and bacon as I entered the kitchen.

"smells delicious." I smiled at her.

Her eyes were red and puffy.

"what's wrong?"

"What's right?"

I pulled her away from the stove turning everything off and sat her on the couch.

"what's going on?"

"I found out about Roxanne. That's crazy. But on top of that they made Dino go nomad."

"Why?"

"T-they don't approve of us."

"Why not?"

She wiped her tears from her eyes.

"They said he's not good enough for me."

I didn't know what to say. I knew she had strong feelings for them. I pulled her into me and let her cry into my lap as I ran my fingers through her hair.

The entire day we ate ice cream and watched romcoms and talked a little about everything. It was going good, she would have little slip ups here and there but she really tried to hold it together.

All the sudden the slider door flew open and Dino stood there.

"D-Dino? I thought you left."

"I wouldn't leave without saying goodbye."

She ran up to him and jumped into his arms. I felt so many emotions as they kissed. I turned around trying to give them some alone time before I heard her feet hit the ground.

"I came here for another reason."

I turned around now watching them.

"Bella, come with me."

My mouth flew open and it wasn't the only one.

"What?"

"Come with me." He repeated.

"Like, runaway with you?" She asked.

He nodded.

"I love you Arabella Matthews. I love you and I want you to come with me." He said.

She bit her lip and bounced on her heels. She turned to me as if asking my advice.

Do I encourage this? I can see how much they care about each other. They'll get mad but if she's happy then anything else shouldn't matter.

I walked up to her.

"I ran from my problems. I didn't fight for Reaper and that is still my biggest regret. If you love him back and you want him, go." I said.

Her eyes held a new glint in them she nodded and ran out to her room.

He smiled at me and hugged me.

"thank you Alli."

"I hope you know what you're doing. Kraken and Vulture AND Reaper." I said.

He looked down the hall she disappeared to.

"she's worth it."

"good answer." I smiled back.

She came back out her room with a duffle bag and a backpack. It was pitch black out now that it was a little after 11p.

"Leave your phone. Virus will track it." Dino said.

She put the phone down and gave me a hug.

"Call me when you get wherever so I know you're safe." She nodded as they slid out the back-sliding door.

Tomorrow when they realize she's gone, all hell is going to break loose.
