Allison's POV – 1 month later

Ugh.

My body feels so tired.

I slowly started to open my eyes, the room was just too bright. I closed my eyes back up and groaned.

How could I forget to close the blinds again?

I went to turn to my side but I felt a tug on my arm and then a pinch. Then I could feel excessive air into my nose making it hard for me to breath.

I scrunched my face up and brought my hand to my face and felt tubing. My eyes shot up forgetting all about how bright it was. I heard excessive beeping as I ripped the tubing out of my face.

What the fuck is going on?

The door swung open and Roadkill ran in and grabbed my hands.

"Calm down Alli. Calm down."

"Roadkill?" My voice was scratchy, and it hurt to talk.

"I'm going to let go of your hands but don't freak out. I'm going to grab you some water."

He grabbed a water bottle out of a mini fridge near the wall and put a straw inside it. He slowly brought it to my mouth and I downed the whole bottle in less than 30 seconds.

I looked around the room and noticed I was in a hospital room.

"What happened?"

He looked confused.

"You don't remember?"

I shook my head no.

"What's the last thing you remember?"

I had to think.

"Last thing I remember was getting up to head to the library back at Clemson." I responded.

The nurse came in to the room with a smile.

"Hello Ms. Riley, how are you feeling?"

"Um, a little groggy."

"Does anything hurt?"

"Um." I started moving to feel pain radiate from my ribs.

"My ribs hurts and my throat."

"Your ribs are still healing and so is your esophagus."

What the hell happened to me?

She started checking my vitals and asking me questions.

"Do you know your name?"

"Allison Marie Riley."

"When is your birthday?"

"May 3rd."

"What month is it?"

"January."

She marked something down.

"Alli, it's March 5th."

"March? No, that's not possible." I started to panic and the monitor was showing my increase in heart rate.

"Alli, you have to calm down. Breathe in and breathe out."

I started copying him and slowly my heart rate went back down.

"Good. Good job kiddo." He brushed hair out of my face.

"That's enough for now. There's a shower through those doors when you feel up for it."

I went to stand but my feet didn't allow me to.

"Nancy went to the cafeteria. When she gets back she can help you in the shower."
