We made our way to the highest wall in our sight, I offered Minho support as his injury caused him to limp; however he rejected my help.
"I'm alright, (Y/N), relax." The male smirked, nudging me in the shoulder playfully.
"Yeah, you say that," I started, narrowing my eyes as I tilted my head to the left slightly. "But how're you gonna climb up, smart guy?" Minho giggled, before staring at the ground nervously and silently, face blank.
"I.. I guess I didn't consider that.. Shuck.." I placed a reassuring hand on his arm.
"You'll be fine" I smiled, fluttering my eyelids as I tried to adjust to the darkness surrounding us; which I had only just noticed. "Besides, you have a knife with you, that'll surely help you up."
He nodded, his blank frown becoming a bright, hopeful expression once again. We finally reached the tall structure, Minho stood to the side as motioned me to the wall.
"Ladies first." He sniggered, I couldn't tell whether he was being serious or trying to amuse me - I just decided to climb the ivy and not react to his words.
I had reached the middle of the thick ivy ladder, beads of sweat were forming all over me and the effort of carrying on was overwhelming. I gazed behind me, hoping to see Minho climbing at my side, but to my surprise he was still stood at the bottom of the wall.
"Minho! What the shuck are you doing?" I snapped, scowling viciously.
"I'm waiting for you to get to the top before I start climbing." He called, seeming more relaxed than worried that a griever could snatch him up any second.
"You slint-head! Get up here before you get killed!" I was getting pretty worked up now. There was no reason for him to just stand there and watch.
"No, what if you fall? Who's gonna catch you?" He raised his hands and drew his thumbs, pointing them towards himself enthusiastically. I shook my head and continued to climb, thinking nothing of what Minho was trying to put forward.
After another 10 minutes worth of hard work and panting, I finally reached the top of the wall. I sighed in relief as I dropped to the stone cold surface, lying on my back, breathing heavily. I got the idea that Minho would be climbing up by now, only to be startled by another blood curdling screech not to far from where we were. I looked down in a rush, noticing Minho instantly.
"(Y/N), stay there! Don't move! Don't shucking move!" He clamoured, looking at me with wide, panicked eyes. I didn't have the time to react, he hurriedly sped off - obviously ignoring his injured ankle.
Shuck. He was gone; just like that. I had no idea where he'd gotten to, all I knew is that we were both alone in a griever infested maze, and the repulsive creatures were already close. Too close. So close that Minho had to run and leave me by myself.
