Hikari
After a few moments of watching him swim, I started up my laps again. I always wondered why he hated Midoriya, but now that I knew, I felt almost bad for him.
About 20 minutes later I said goodnight to Bakugo and went home.
The two weeks passed uneventfully after that. It was all of the same: running, swimming, working out in the huge gym that U.A had, and studying techniques that could help improve my skills on the battlefield.
Finally the day came. The Sports Festival was here.
"Ugh," I said as we walked down the hallway to the central arena. "I was hoping we could wear our costumes."
Our teachers had given us strict instructions that we could only wear our P.E clothing, because our costumes could cause 'a disturbance'.
"Well, at least we'll all look the same, so there won't be competition between who has a better costume," Uraraka said.
"I know," I said. "It's just my costume is fire-proof, so if I surround myself with flames I could burn through my clothing."
She blushed, along with Midoriya, Iida, and Yaoyorozu, who were next to me.
"Wait, did you say you could burn through your clothing?" A voice said. I looked down and saw Mineta, and from what I has heard, he was a huge pervert.
"Shut up, you perv," I said. "I said I might, but I probably won't if I limit myself."
He grinned and stared at me. I rolled my eyes and kept walking.
"I'm sorry," Yaoyorozu said. "That must give you a big disadvantage."
I shrugged. "If I do, I'm wearing under clothing, so I'm not showing that much skin." I frowned. "Unless I accidentally burn through that, too."
"Let's hope that won't happen then!" Uraraka said.
I nodded. "And that's why I wish I had my costume on."
"Wait, so how do you not burn yourself?" Midoriya asked.
"My skin is fire-proof," I said slowly. "It would be dumb if it wasn't."
He blushed. "O-oh, yeah, sorry," he stuttered.
I waved my hand. "It's fine."
We made it to the central arena, and the sound of cheering and yelling filled our ears.
"This is so nerve-racking!" Uraraka shouted to me over the noise.
"I know, right!" I shouted back.
The noise died down as we neared the center of the Sports Festival Stadium. Midnight was standing on a stage, smiling and waiting for us to crowd around her.
"Welcome, everyone, to the U.A. Sports Festival!" She shouted into the microphone. The statement was followed up by a moment of wild cheers. When the noise died down, she continued.
"Today, our students will be put through 3 challenging trails. The higher ranking you get, the more chance you have of survival."
She gestured to a huge screen behind her. "We have yet to know what these challenges could be. Who's ready to find out?!"
Everyone cheered, and the screen lit up, showing a picture and some words. Then, like a roulette wheel, the screen began to flip through multiple events, until finally it settled on one.
"An Obstacle Race!" Midnight shouted. She turned to us. "Students, listen carefully. For this challenge, you will leave the festival stadium and run the 4 kilometers around the stadium through an obstacle course. You are permitted to use your quirk as much as you like, as long as you don't leave the course!"
