I adjusted my lipstick as I finished in the bathroom. I smiled at my reflection before walking out and went back to work. I sat at the front desk and started tapping away on the keyboard. Writing nothing interesting but work-related, boring. I started working at a library so I could read books when I wasn't busy but when I was given responsibility for the libraries social media there was always something to do.
"Excuse me," I looked up to see a handsome and tall man smiling at me. I cleared my throat trying to keep my composure.
"How can I help you?" I asked with a polite smile.
"I was hoping to have the newspaper archives reaching all the way back," He commented making me smile.
"Big project?" I asked as I walked around the desk to lead the way.
"Something like that," He replied mysteriously so I decided not to press it. I walked to the newspaper area and bend down to look at the bottom box and checked that it was the right one. I kind of hoped he was looking at my ass but I have to at least pretend to be professional. I stood with the box and turned to him with a smile.
"There's just two other boxes and for health and safety were only allowed to carry one each," I explained to which he nodded in understanding. "Do you have any idea where you'd like to sit?" I asked and he smiled.
"anywhere really," I nodded and lead the way, he grabbed a box and followed me to the table. I placed the box down and turned to him.
"I'll get the other box but is there's anything else I can help you with?" I asked making him chuckle.
"No that's great thank you." He explained making me smile. I went back to my desk and carried on working. I tried not to think about the guy as he was clearly out of my league. I got my phone from my pocket and texted my girl's group chat.
"Hope you guys need a book, really attractive guy walked in: wayyyy out of my league." I texted with a chuckle before putting my phone back. I continued tapping on the keyboard before a colleague came over. She really nice, her names Jackie and she's one of the oldest and realist staff working here. It's always a good shift with her here.
"You see the hot guy at the table by the stairs?" She asked making me laugh as she started checking some books back in.
"Yeah, I put him there, he's looking at the newspapers," I replied but she sighed.
"You should have sat him close so we had something to admire while we worked." She commented making me laugh. I was about to continue working when someone approached the desk.
"Hi, where are the children's books?" A little girl asked her dad beside her.
"I'll show you," I shrugged with a smile but Jackie quickly spoke.
"I'll take you," She smirked at me before leading them away, I was a little confused until the door opened and an attractive guy walked in.
"Have you soon a tall guy in here with long hair?" He asked and I smiled knowing Jackie was trying to get me to talk with him.
"Yeah, I'll take you over," I explained standing from the desk. He smiled brightly and followed me. I approached the table to guy was at and stopped in my tracks. "Is that him?" I asked so h nodded.
"Thank you," He added before I started walking away. I looked back to see he was checking my out making me giggle. Two hot guys in one day. This is more action than this town has ever seen. I went back to my desk and checked my phone. The girls had been complaining that they were working or busy and seemed genuinely annoyed they couldn't come to check them out. I chuckled.
"Another attractive guy has just met up with the first," I added to the comment and replies instantly came through.
"I'm going to quit my job and work with you," One friend joked making me laugh.
"Sneak a picture," "Shake your hips," And "shoot your shot girl," were some of the replied I received made me laugh. They mean well.
"Excuse me?" I heard a deep voice ask so I looked up with a smile seeing the first attractive guy that had walked in.
"Can I help you?" I asked and he smiled widely.
"I was wondering if you wanted to get a drink after work?" He asked making me beam with excitement and slight disbelief that he asked me out. He could have anyone.
"I would love that, I finish at 8," I explained making him smile.
"Awesome, I'll come to pick you up then," He explained with a goofy smile.
SAM'S POV:
I walked back to the table where Dean was now flicking through the papers. I tried to hide my smile. I sat down and Dean looked at me suspiciously.
"You picked up smoking?" He asked but I looked at him confused.
"No, why?" I asked so Dean sighed.
"Why we're going to the front door when the bathrooms are that way?" He asked making me sigh as he gestured to the opposite direction where there was a sign for the bathroom. I had said I was going to the bathroom since I knew Dean would want to beat me to asking the girl on the front desk out. He had checked her out when he first got here and had a lot to say about her body when he first sat down. I decided to play it off cool.
"I asked the girl out at the front desk," I explained with a big smile and my hand up for a high-five. Dean looked at me with a blank expression before looking back to the papers.
"Bitch," He said under his breath making me chuckle slightly. My only chance to be with her was to get to her before Dean.
