Breaking up with Sam

(892 Words)

I stared down at the pregnancy test, tears already streaming my face. I just stared at it. Completely in shock. I can't believe this... I can't believe this! Crazy thoughts started circling my mind. I can't get rid of it. It would always haunt me. I took a deep breath before putting the pregnancy test into my deep pocket and fixing my appearance in the mirror. I walked back into my living room and took a seat on the couch. I sat there till dark. I don't want to have a baby while I'm hunting it would be too dangerous. I can't leave the hunting world because Sam would too and Dean can't hunt alone. After hours of deep concentration I sighed knowing I couldn't ignore my hunger.

I entered the kitchen and spotted my phone on the counter top. I noticed it was face down and so turned it over to see I had 3 missed calls from Sam. I can't tell him! I jumped when my phone started ringing. If I don't answer he's just going to come here and I can't see him, it will break me. I took a deep breath before answering the phone.

"Y/N, I'm so glad you're okay, why didn't you answer the phone?" He asked sounding slightly breathless.
"My phone was on silent, I didn't hear it ring," I explained technically not lying.
"Well I was going to come over to check on you, I can still come over if you want? If you want some alone time together," he questioned suggestively. I can't see him I'll just cry or tell him instantly.
"I'm still doing research and I have to go see a witness so you might as well come tomorrow like we planned," I explained knowing that I had to be out of here before tomorrow.
"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow then." He sounded as if he shrugged obviously not hearing the heart break in my tone.
"I love you," I added making him chuckle happily.
"I love you too," he added before saying goodbye and we hung up. I gave myself a minute to compose myself before my eyes hardened. It's now or never.

SAM'S POV:

I pulled up to the apartment block with a wide smile. I looked for Y/N's car but she must be out. I woke up Dean before we headed inside. I couldn't stop smiling. I'm so excited to see her. It might have only been a week since I saw her but it felt like a lifetime. I unlocked the door with a smile and stepped in. I got a shock when my foot landed on something. I looked down to see that the keys had been posted through the letter box. Why would Y/N do that? I quickly hurried inside. I expected there to be signs of a struggle but it all seemed fine.
"Sam," Dean called me over so I turned to see him standing in the kitchen holding a Y/N's phone and a piece of paper. I hurried over quickly opening the paper for answers. My heart broke as I read it.

"Dear Sam,
You have no idea how hard it it to write this.
You won't hear or see me again, it's for the best. I know this may be painful to begin but it had to be done. I can't tell you why I'm leaving but I can't stay. Please don't come looking for me.
I love you with all my heart but I am doing this for you. You might not understand but if you knew you would be grateful.
If anyone rings my phone it's for a case, don't wait for me to come back because I won't. I want you to move on, don't just wait for me.
I love you,
Your Y/N."

Y/N'S POV:

"Thanks for letting me come here, Bobby," I explained as I accepted the steaming mug from him.
"It's okay, you can stay as long as you want," he explained as he sat beside me on the couch I sighed slightly.
"I can't. You know how I said that I had to leave the hunting life?" I asked so he nodded interested. I took a deep breath. "I'm pregnant," I explained but Bobby seemed shocked silent. "It's Sam's but I didn't want him to choose between the hunting life and me." I explained making Bobby rub his forehead as he thought. I watched in anticipation waiting for his response.
"I know where you can go," he explained before standing from the couch and walking to his desk. He picked up his phone book before ripping a page out. He approached as he handed it to me. "He's a pain and grumpy but he's the only hunter I've ever known to successfully leaving the hunting gig. He's called Rufus, the boys have never met or heard of him so they won't know where to look. Good luck," he explained so I nodded with tears in my eyes. I jumped when his phone started ringing. "Hey, boys," he answered the phone and gave me a look telling me to leave. I nodded and quietly made my way out the house.

This is going to be difficult but I have to for the babies sake.
