Dean's Friend

Dean and your dad being good friends.

We pulled up to my parents house and I was bursting with excitement. Today was the day they were finally going to meet our baby Sammy. Dean smiled to me comfortingly as we undid our seat belts. 

"You excited?" He asked and I nodded quickly. 

"I'm just excited for the barbecue," I joked making him laugh. We opened our doors and both opened a back door. 

"Has he still got the huge barbecue we got him for Father's Day?" He asked with a bright smile. 

"Yeah, mum was saying yesterday that he had it lit last night, can't stop playing with it," I commented making him laugh. I grabbed Sammy from the car as he grabbed our baby bang. He locked the car as we approached the house. The door opened before we got to it and I instantly say my mums smiling face and my sister. They excitedly approached us. They instantly gave dean a hug and a kiss on the cheek before approaching me and the baby excitedly. My mum instantly wanted to cuddle the baby. I handed him over carefully and in a second they were inside, baby bag and all. I looked to dean as we chuckled. He approached me and put an arm around me, leading me inside. We were instantly greeted by friends and neighbours. Most people were cooing at the baby. Dean kissed my head as he noticed my dad waving him out to the back garden. The barbecue already lit and waiting for us. I watched him walk away as people congratulate him and he grabbed a beer for him and my dad. My sister called me over to mainly women circling the baby. I was instantly offered a seat. Everyone was waiting to get a hold and a good look at the baby. I couldn't stop smiling. 

"Was it hard?" A neighbour asked making me chuckle. 

"Worth it," I commented and many awed at me. 

"Only 2 hours labour that's pretty good," my sister commented and I saw some eyebrows lift. 

"Yeah first births usually take around 8 hours but I guess he was just as excited as we were." I explained and everyone seemed to dash their eyes to Sammy as he was passed to the next person to get a good look at. I chuckled as he was wide away and looking to all the faces. So many people were in love with him already. With deans eyes it's hard not to love him. 

"Aww he's got your lips," my sister commented as she held him. People seemed to lean in closer.  

"He's so cute, all the girls in the play ground will want him," a family friend commented making me laugh. 

"He's my little guy for now," I shrugged making some people chuckle. After a while the food was announced. I was handed Sammy and was designated a seat far enough away from the barbecue that there was no smoke. 

"They love him as much as we do?" Dean asked as he kissed my head and put a plate on the table top beside me. 

"Yeah, they all think he's going to be a little heartbreaker," I chuckled making him laugh.

"If he's anything like me he will," he joked making me laugh. He kissed Sammy's head before turning to continue to help my dad. A few people sat with me but a lot of people were just enjoying everyone's company. I looked over to dean as I heard my dads laugh. Dean was chuckling with the beer to his lips, I love how close they are. My entire family loves dean. He came over with a bright smile and a plate of food. He took the seat beside me and kissed my cheek. 

"What us ladies talking about?" He asked before taking a bite of his burger. The women chuckled. They all think he's attractive so laugh at everything he says but I trust him. 

"We were just wondering when you'd have your next?" My mum asked and dean and I looked up at her in disbelief. As we did so there was a camera shutter and everyone laughed. We laughed along as I looked down to Sammy. His big green eyes looking at the world. 

Dean kissed his head and smiled to me. 

This is my family and I love it.
