Dean boosting Sam's confidence as he decides to finally tell you he likes you

(1451 Words)

Third Person POV:

The brother's entered the hunter's bar, the atmosphere seeming the same as always. They were surprised when Ellen approached them at the door.

"You're sitting over there," She said plainly before leaving them again. The boys shared a confused glance before approaching the table they had been instructed to sit at.

"What was all that about?" Sam asked curiously but Dean was as confused as he was. The boys stayed in their seats with the odd occasion of approaching the bar for drinks. Sam had a feeling Ellen was keeping Dean and Jo apart as Ellen kept instructing Jo to do work on the opposite side of the building. As Sam looked around for answers he was shocked to see someone who he hadn't seen there before. He wondered if she was new to the hunting world or if he had just never looked around before. He admired her, anyone would.

He watched closely as she placed her drink to her lips, feeling the cold glass for a second before taking a sip. How she instantly resumed moving her mouth as she read the words on her page, He couldn't help but be mesmerised by her as he watched her facial expressions change slightly due to the book. She seemed to be taking in every word and punctuation, not realising Sam was reading her the same way. Sam was so curious about her, what her story was, why she became a hunter, why she was sitting alone.

"Go talk to her," Dean commented with a chuckle but Sam was so deep in thought that it gave him a fright. Dean laughed and Sam instantly worried that it would catch her attention, he quickly looked over, seeing that she had not looked away from her book. Sam sighed looking back at Dean.

"I'm not just going to go over and annoy her," Sam urged, although he wanted to he just knew he wasn't that kind of guy. Sam didn't agree with Dean's ways, Sam felt it was disrespectful to speak to women the way Dean suggested. Dean was giving Sam every hint, everything he's done to get with a woman. Somethings you shouldn't tell your brother. Sam thought it was completely wrong and something he would never do but there he sat wondering. He's not much experience with female hunters. Dean explained an opinion not many would agree with, Dean claimed that female hunters like to be dominated.

"They just want to be saved every once in a while," Dean was as oblivious as always. Yeah, he was good with women but most of them didn't listen to a word he said. He thought he was smooth always being able to find a woman who would get with him but really it was his green eyes, or short hair, or leather jacket. Most of the girls he slept with were already looking for someone to go home with, they didn't care who it was.

Y/N was not that way. She hated male hunters, they were always sexist pigs towards her. The only reason she attended the hunter's bar was Ellen and Jo. Y/N looked up to Ellen as she was the strong woman she wished to be, she aspired to be as brave as Ellen.

Sam eventually built up the courage to approach Y/N. Feeling stupid with every step towards her he considered turning around. He finally made it up to her, he leant on the bar close to her as Dean had instructed. He opened his mouth to speak.

"No," She put simply and he was surprised. She hadn't even looked at him, it seemed she was too encapsulated in the book to notice him but she did. As soon as he stood up and took a single step towards her she knew he was coming. She knew the words that would come out of his mouth before he even said it. Every man was the same in her opinion. They're useless until you wish to reproduce but even then science could fix that problem. Her lifetime experience of being a woman told her everything she needed about men. Sam seemed thrown off, forgetting what he was going to say for a second.

"I was just wanting to buy you a drink," He went on but she scoffed, her eyes never leaving the page.

"I have one," She said simply, he chuckled slightly trying to remember what Dean had told him, everything was planned out all he had to do was say it and yet here he was completely forgetting. He felt like a kid giving a presentation in front of the whole class. Sam looked over at Dean who pointed at him and he knew he was calling him was 'the man'. Sam felt ridiculous but he went on.

"Well, when you've finished I'll buy you another." He tried but she raised an eyebrow before turning the page. When she was silent Sam wasn't sure if she wanted him to keep talking or walk away, he thought about all the women Dean gets and decided to press on. "Are you a hunter or a model? I can't tell," He tried to sound confident. He wasn't sure if that's how it sounded but he tried. It didn't. Sam felt something touch his crotch and flinched slightly. He looked down confused but froze when he recognised a handgun barrel pressed against his jeans. His mind seemed to buffer. He turned to walk away making it a few steps before his mind kicked into gear again.

He turned around with a  deep breath, he approached her again but took a seat beside her. He believed it was stupid but went for it. She side glanced at him, she wondered if he had a death wish.

"I just wanted to apologise, I don't know what I was thinking. I never disrespect women like that and I'm sorry that I subjected you to it," He explained surprising her. No man had ever apologised to her before. She turned her head to look at him fully, she recognised his handsomeness and smiled. He smiled knowing she had opened up to him a little. "I'm Sam," He added as he put his hand out to shake hers. She smiled as she accepted it.

"Y/N," She commented and Sam smiled a toothy smile. He thought her name was beautiful and saw her voice as angelic.

"What part are you up to?" He asked as he pointed to her book and she seemed to smile wider. She never had a friend to talk about books to and she was happy he asked. She's passionate about books but no one else seems interested these days.

They talked about books for a while, she was impressed by his knowledge and vast list of stories he had read. The whole conversation they had been laughing and talking back and forth. Y/N looked at her watch and sighed, she stood from her chair and downed her drink.

"Well, it was a pleasure to meet you but I have to go, have a good night," She explained and Sam was disappointed. He could have talked to her for hours. She smiled as she held her hand out, he shook it smiling disappointed.

"Have a nice night," He added before she let go of his hand. He felt something in it and looked to see a piece of paper, he smiled happily as he looked back at her to see her leaving. She looked back to smile at him at the door before leaving. Sam was so excited. He approached Dean again who looked disappointed for him.

"Aw, you win some, you lose some," He shrugged but Sam scoffed.

"I'm never listening to you again," Sam commented but Dean looked offended.

"You were talking to her for ages, you should be thanking me," He argued, Sam laughed.

"I was only talking to her after I apologised for listening to you," He explained. The whole night they debated about it, Dean was adamant that it was Sam's fault it didn't work. Sam knew better. He didn't tell Dean he got her number but it stayed on his mind. He was finally able to text her when Dean headed to the bathroom. "It's Sam," He texted, he regretted it instantly. He should have said something smoother, of course, it was Sam. He practically face-palmed.

"Miss me already?" She replied and Sam smiled. He had no idea what would happen in the future but he would be happy if he was with her even if it was only for a little while.
