DEAN'S POV:

I answered my phone as Sam filled the impala with gas. "Hello?" I started not recognising the number.

"Hey, is this Dean?" A woman asked and it got me thinking, I haven't given any women my number recently.

"Yeah, who's this?" I asked, my eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Hi, I'm Sam's ex, Y/n," She explained and now I was really confused.

"Okay," I said slowly, hoping she would explain.

"I just need to see you," She said simply but I was so confused I wanted to laugh.

"You do know this is Dean?" I asked with a scoff.

"Yes, I would like to see you," She added and I shook me head in disbelief.

"Why?" I exclaimed and Sam looked at me a little confused. I turned so he couldn't see my face.

"I have a case for you but I don't want to see Sam," She explained and I nodded in understanding.

"Okay, I'll come see you, I'm a day's drive out," I explained and she agreed. I was soon on the road again. I didn't tell Sam that it was her, I just told him that an old flight had a case for me so he wasn't curious about wanting to come with. I played it cool and was soon in her town. I told Sam I planned on getting more than just a case and he stayed in the motel room with a disgusted look.

Y/N'S POV:

There was a knock on my door so I answered with a smile as Dean stood in the doorway. I stepped a side and he walked in, looking around slightly since he had never been in my house before.

"What's the case?" He asked a little seriously so I smiled. I hurried to the table where the case file sat, everything was already done. All they had to do was kill it.

"So, I'm going to give you thew case but I want to ask a favour," I explained but he sighed before looking at me expectantly. "I want to know why Sam broke up with me," I said softly but he sighed and moved to walk out. I rushed to the door and blocked it before he could make it. He turned putting his hands through his hair.

"Why didn't you ask him?" He asked so I sighed.

"I tried but he couldn't even look me in the eyes. Please I need to know," I pleaded but he refused to look at me.

"It's not my place to say," He shrugged but I shook my head.

"Please, you're probably the only one that knows besides Sam. I have a right to know," I explained, raising my voice slightly.

"What do you want me to say, that he stopped loving you, that you got annoying?" He asked in a slight shout. It hurt to hear but my heart knew better.

"That's not true," I barked but he came closer.

"You want the answer but what if I say that he was using you, or he couldn't get it up for you anymore because of how ugly you are?! What are you going to believe then?" He shouted getting in my face. I know Sam has said that he's scared of Dean some times but I didn't want to give him the satisfaction. I held my composure.

"I will believe the truth!" I screamed and he took a step back before laughing.

"What if I've already said it?" He asked with a chuckle.

"You haven't. I know you haven't." I shook my head and he sighed. He groaned before taking a seat on the couch.

"The hunting life has no place for loved one," He explained bitterly. "Sam knew that if he kept you around you'd be killed. You should be thankful that he spared you," He explained before getting up. Angrier expression than when he was shouting. He approached getting ready to leave but I held the file out in front of him. He stopped and looked at me confused.

"Thank you for the truth." I added softly and he looked hurt. Like a mixture of sad and betrayed. He nodded slightly. He opened the door and was about to leave. "Dean," I called after him. He looked at me sadly. "Take care," I added and he looked as though he was ready to cry. He nodded before walking on. I watched out of my window as he wiped his face, walking to the car. He got it the car and hit the steering wheel, crying to himself. I was about to walk out to him and check if he was okay but he drove off. At least now I know the truth. Sam still loves me and that's all that matters.
