THIRD PERSON POV:
The love of Sam Winchesters life was gone, it had been 4 months but to him it felt like yesterday. They were a great couple, never arguing and always were on the same page. Y/n was perfect for Sam so much so that he didn't believe she was real. They started dating 10 months before her death.
She had given her life save Sam, she never thought herself as the heroic type. She didn't hesitate to lose her life for Sam, it was shock to everyone. Dean, someone who knew very little about her, even cried for her, thanked her for letting him stay with Sammy. She was in more emotional pain that physical in her dying seconds. The look in Sam's eyes hurting more than the bullet.
Sam was looking for revenge. It was the only thing he could think to do, Sam knew that they had killed the vampire but Sam insisted that they all must die. That he would make them extinct before resting. It was unhealthy, Dean hated it but he or Bobby could do to stop it. They had no idea that Y/n was spiritually attached to Sam, her spirit following him everywhere. She had no control, no options to leave but she knew she had to stay.
"You're driving like a maniac!" Dean shouted over the radio as he held onto his chair tightly, Sam's knuckles white on the steering wheel and the tires off the ground as they sped over a hill. Y/n sat in the back seat, admiring Sam with sad eyes. She couldn't make contact, her touch always passing through him, her voice ignored and he tears invisible. She felt as though she was slowly going insane but faught to stay a normal ghost for Sam. No poltergeist.
"I just want to get there, you always drive like a grandma," Sam argued as he continued his high and dangerous speed. Y/n began worrying for their safety, the car feeling as though Sam no longer had control. She gulped in fear for them.
"Pull over!" Dean shouted as his breath quickened, his heart racing with fear. He knew that Sam had a death wish, didn't care if he died because then he would be with her but Dean had hoped that if he was going to do something stupid he wouldn't do it to him to.
"I'm not pulling over, we'll be there soon," Sam barked through gritted teeth. Dean huffed.
"We're going to die before we get there, Pull over!" Dean showed how angry he was.
"Fine," Sam huffed before pressing the breaks and pulling over to the side of the road. Dean sighed with relief but looked to Sam confused as he climbed out of the car. Dean and Y/n looked out to Sam a little confused as he stood at the front of the car draped in the headlights of the car. "Get out here and fight me like a man," Sam shouted, shocking Dean. Dean slowly opened his door and set a foot on the dirt below the car.
"I'm not going to fight you, just let me drive," Dean bargained but Sam huffed out some hot air that had invaded his lungs.
"Come and fight me," Sam demanded. Dean looked at him sympathetically. "Don't give me that look. You've been dying to hit me for years and now you have your shot, don't chicken out now," Sam boomed making Dean annoyed. Dean didn't want to beat Sam up but he's been acting like a different person after Y/n's death and if he wasn't his brother, Dean would have snapped by now. Dean walked around the car door. "You're mad that I found the love of my life and what do you have? Ex's, mistakes and a drinking problem!" Sam shouted as Dean got closer. Dean was sething with anger. In the blink of an eye, Dean's fist connected to the side of Sam's face. Y/n was shocked but expected it. Sam chuckled as he touched the spot that Dean had just pinched. Sam stepped forward swinging for Dean.
"Stop," Y/n demanded to no provale. The sound of the punches landed echoed in the open air. Blood began to spill and Y/n couldn't stand it. "Stop!" She shouted and suddenly realised that the radio played her voice. She leaped forward as fast as she could using her deep emotions, she turned the dile so the volume was at full. She took a deep breath before shouting as loud as she could. "Stop!" She pushed her eyes tightly closed as she prayed they would hear, she opened her eyes to see the brothers had stopped and started looking at the car. She chuckled slightly with deep breaths, disbelieving it worked. Sam practically ran back into the car.
"Y/n, was that you?" He asked in a hurry trying to hide the crack in his voice, the pain he had been hiding for so long threatening to escape.
"I love you," She quickly said hoping he would hear her. Sam began sobbing telling her that he heard.
"I love you," He added trying to push back the urge to cry but losing. "I miss you!" He added, his heart break showing in his tone.
"I miss you!" She shouted knowing her strength was fading and hoping to say one final thing but Sam waited for a reply. Dean stood close to the car giving them space. He turned his back as he wiped a tear. He would do anything to make Sam happy and bring her back. Y/n voice didn't play through the radio but it didn't need to for Sam to feel conforted. He knew she was still with him after all this time. He smiled as he cried knowing she was looking out for him. He couldn't stop hoping to hug her but his heart knew better than his hopes.
Sam cried hysterically, rested his head on the steering wheel and sobbed into the night. Dean still waited outside of the car, Y/n watched with a broken heart. She couldn't decide if it was better to look after him or to give him closure.
