Being on a date with Sam.

I adjusted my outfit as I walked into the restaurant. A waiter approached me, I was about to ask for Sam but I saw him standing and looking at me. I walked over with a wide smile. Wow, he cleans up well. I couldn't hide my smile as I made it to him. I was about to shake his hand but he pulled me into a hug. He is very tall so I probably felt like a tic tac in his arms. I giggled slightly as I pulled away with a smile. He gestured for me to take a seat, I pulled out my chair and took a seat just as Sam did. He was smiling so brightly I couldn't help but smile back.

"You look amazing," He commented making me giggle.

"Thank you, I love the suit," I added making him smile as he looked down at his suit. He looked up with a happy smile. We chatted for a little while before ordering food. I couldn't help but laugh as he explained a story. He was on a road trip with his brother and his brother embarrassed himself in front of an entire diner full of people. I tried to conceal my laughter as I hate my laugh but Sam seemed happier when I was laughing.

"You have a contagious laugh," He chuckled once the story was done.

"Oh, I hate it." I chuckled in reply.

"Look, I don't normally do this but I'm thinking of travelling to Stanford to visit some old friends, I don't suppose you would want to come?" He asked and I was completely shocked.

"That's a long trip, you sure you won't get sick of me?" I asked in a joking tone. He laughed slightly.

"I think I'll be fine," He chuckled with a bright smile.

"Then I would love to come with you," I added just before a waiter brought over our food. We thanked them before they left. I had a nice Lasagne and Sam had ordered a steak. I was happily content with my meal. We mainly focused on eating with the occasional small talk. I know it would be easy to be around Sam and I worried that I would easily fall for him without him even trying. I knew I had a crush on him as soon as his eyes met mine. Oh, he had me in the palm of his hand before he even introduced himself. I chuckled as I noticed I had been slightly staring at Sam and he was happily stating back. I couldn't help but giggle.

"You know with eyes like those you could get away with murder," He joked making me slight. I laughed as I looked down at my food.

"So, what do you do for work?" I asked before taking a bite of my food.

"It's a secret, you'll know when you have to," He commented making me smirk.

"Oh, I'm not allowed to know?" I asked with a chuckle. He chuckled back and shrugged.

"Something like that," He replied but now I was curious.

"You're not a professional kidnapper are you?" I asked jokingly. He laughed.

"No, I just do secret projects and have to move around a lot," He explained innocently but dread filled my being. So if we dated I wouldn't see him? I tried to hide my sorrow by eating but he must have noticed I went quiet. "I still have time between projects, you know. Months when they don't give me work to do," He tried to explain but I nodded softly with a weak smile. He sighed. "Look, I really like you. You can probably tell as I'm not normally this clumsy," He started to explain making me chuckle. "I would do anything even if it meant only seeing you a little. I would drive the entire length of America just to see you smile for 2 seconds," He argued making me laugh. I decided to drop the subject as there was no point in zoning in on it and ruining the date.

We started a conversation on what I did for most of my life and it got really deep but with Sam, I didn't feel awkward about telling him my deepest, darkest secrets. He didn't seem put off with my past if anything he seemed intrigued. Like he was soaking in word I said. His eyes deep with concentration and seeing through my eyes and no doubt all the way to my soul.

I smiled brightly as we walked out of the restaurant, Sam had offered to drive me home so we climbed into his car. The only talking we did in the car was me giving him directions. We made it to my place in no time and I couldn't help but inviting him inside. I didn't want the date to end but I didn't want it to go further in case he was just using me for sex. I didn't think he was the type but I have to keep my guard up. Hours pass and we're still hanging out, We had junk food in front of us and playing random games. It sounds dorky but it's the most fun I've had in a while. I closed my eyes and opened my mouth with my head tilted back. I opened my eyes again when I felt the M&M hit my cheek. I laughed before throwing candy and it landed in Sam's mouth. We cheered in celebration, Sam even go up from his seat and started running around cheering. I couldn't hold back my laugh.

As the sun was rising, I looked at Sam with a disappointed look.

"I'll come to see you later," He explained as he stood from the couch. I nodded and walked him to the door. "I had a really good time," He explained making me smile brightly. He leant down and kissed my cheek before turning around and opening the door.

"Sam wait," I called out. He stopped in his tracks and turned to me. I approached him and pulled him closer to me. Connecting our lips, kiss me back instantly. The kiss got a little heat as Sam rested his hands on my hips and held me close while I had a hand on the back of his neck kissing him deeply. After a little while, we pulled away to breathe. We were both smiling goofily making me giggle.

"I'll see you very soon," He smiled making me smile as I nodded. He kissed me one last time before turning and walking away with a disappointed smile.
