ray-gun randomness

it begins

It was another normal day in Mobius, and unluckily for team sonic, that included their usual routine of heroism

Eggman was once again causing trouble, disturbing the peace and endangering the lives of innocent civilians

"give up while you still have the chance Eggman" the blue blur mocked as he spin-dashed his share of robots, sending them to their doom and freeing the captive animals

"never" Eggman shouted as he reached inside his egg carrier

Eggman had been recently working on a machine/gun ray that was going to "end sonic and his team once and for all". However, the ray only held one shot, meaning he had to be very precise on his target, which was nearly impossible since the speedy hero never stood still

Suddenly the bald genius felt a massive vibration, taking him out of his troubling thoughts

Knuckles the echidna, the muscle of the group had taken down his most prized and biggest robot, its metal appendages flying in all directions

"why you" Eggman yelled, his body filling with rage as he glared at the guardian, and pointing his ray directly onto the echidna

And fired

As he was hit by the sudden light, knuckles dropped to the floor, gasping in surprise and pain

"knuckles!" sonic shouted, taken back by his teammate's outburst, being too busy to see what exactly happened to make him react in such a way, but soon as he saw his friend cradled in pain, he was instantly next to him in no time at all

While sonic was attending to knuckles in his worrying state

Eggman was laughing in victory, not noticing the twin-tailed fox that was divebombing to attack the evil man

"It worked, it actually wor-" Eggman began to holler before a gloved fist punched his enormous noes, causing the noes to bleed and his hand to drop his device

"nooo!" Eggman shrieked as the weapon shattered on the floor bellow and before Eggman could scoop them up, tails once again came flying and caught most of the broken pieces

"Agh! You little brat" Eggman yelled as he shook his fist towards the twin-tailed fox

"I needed those parts as well" Eggman grumbled but his eyes soon saw the position he was in

All his robots were destroyed and was faced with two very angry mobians

"you better tell me what that ray did Eggman, or you are going to get scrambled so badly your own minions won't be able to recognise you" sonic threatened darkly as he held the limp body of knuckles closely and protectively

Sonic wasn't one for threatening words (this usually being shadows job) but if one of his friends got seriously hurt, he wasn't afraid to go the mile

"oh, well, um, look at the time, bye" Eggman chuckled sheepishly as he quickly flew away, he would never admit it but he was actually taken back by the hedgehog's new persona

"get back here!" sonic shouted wanting to run after his arch-nemesis, but he knew he couldn't leave, he had to make sure his fallen comrade was ok

Sonic sighed as he looked down to the echidna, there were no visible cuts nor bruises which made him something could be wrong internally

Meanwhile, tails continued to look at the jumble of wires and metals in his hands

(maybe I can figure out what this did by analysing these parts) tails thought to himself

"tails" sonic called to get his little brother's attention, taking tails out of his thoughts and his attention to the blue blur

"We need to get him to our house, maybe you can scan him to see what Eggman did" sonic said

"Yeah let's hurry" tails responded as the two hurried back to their "base" sonic holding knuckles in a piggyback style
