Chapter 35

Tris POV

*time skip to Christmas*

I wake up and I feel the absence of Tobias and the realization hits me.....

It's Christmas.

I jump up and run into the family room to see Tobias wrapping presents, because the twins aren't awake. I sigh in relief, "It's Christmas." He looks up at me and laughs, "No duh," he smirks and gets up and kisses me quickly, "Merry Christmas, babe." I smile wide, "Merry Christmas, Santa," I poke him in the stomach, "If you don't lay off the Dauntless Cake, you're going to look like Santa," I laugh. He looks at me and frowns. I give him a sympathetic look and hug him, "It's a joke, Tobias. You're nowhere near being fat." He pulls back and looks at me and smirks, "I know."

I roll my eyes and move away from him and look under the tree, "So, what did Santa get the kids?" He chuckles, "A bunch of empty boxes, they're not going to remember anyways." I burst out laughing, "That.... Is.... Great....." I say between laughs. He smirks and walks up to me and smiles, "I know, genius right?" I smirk and nod, "Oh yeah."

A few hours later the kids wake up and we go in, me dressed as a girl version of Santa and Tobias dressed up with antlers on because he refused to do anything else. We walk in and I pick up Gus, who looks extremely confused as to why I have a red dress on and why Tobias has antlers on. I giggle, "It's Christmas!" Gus looks at me, "Chri-mas?" I smile and nod, "Yes, Gus. Christmas." Tobias picks up Anna who is giggling at the sight of her dad with reindeer antlers on. I smile and we change them and bring them out into the living room where there are a bunch of boxes wrapped for the kids. Gus' eyes light up and he wiggles from my grasp as I set him down. He toddles over to one of the big boxes and he presses his cheek against it, "Maa!" I giggle, "Thats a present, Gus." He grins, "Pwesent." I giggle, "You can open it Gus." He gives me a confused look and I walk up to him and sit beside him, "Like this Gus." I grab another smaller present from under the tree that has my name on it and I unwrap it. Gus watches me, his eyes wide as he turns to the giant present and he begins tearing the wrapping paper off.

I smile and turn back to my present which is a small jewelry box, I open it to see a ring.... Tobias sees me and his eyes widen, "Shit! You weren't supposed to open that till later!" I look up at him, "What do you mean?" He pulls me up and takes the box. He gets down on one knee....

Oh.

Ohhh.

OHHHHHH.

He reopens the box and looks up at me, "Tris?" I nod, "Yeah?" I say, my voice shaking. "Beatrice Mikayla Prior, I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?"

Oh. My. God. What is this life?!?!

I nod eagerly and wrap my arms around him, "Yes, Tobias. Yes."
