JIMIN AND JEONGGUK AT THE ORPHANAGE: THE BEGINNING OF THEIR WHOLE LIVES
"Jimin can you come downstairs please?" One of the ahjummas at the orphanage spoke from the bottom of the stairs.
Little Jimin's groan could be heard from his room and his purposefully loud stomps practically shook the floor. The boy stormed down the stairs with his hands clenched into tight fists with an angered scowl on his face.
"What old lady? I already finished my dinner."
The woman only rolled her eyes. It had been six months since Jimin had come to the orphanage and he had changed drastically, but for the worst. He was no longer the little boy who flinched at even the slightest bit of contact or sudden speech but a boy who cared for nobody but himself and disregarded any form of kindness and benevolence.
All of the ahjummas missed the little boy who was reserved and would come to them when he would cry for his Appa. They would cuddle him to sleep and take him to bed only to have him beg them to stay and read him a story or sing to them. Oh, how they missed the Jimin they met in October.
"There's a new little boy who's coming soon. You'll have to join us outside alongside all your hyung's and noona's. He's three so you'll no longer be the youngest."
Jimin huffed and crossed his arms over his chest. "I didn't ask ahjumma. Do I even have a choice? You'll make me go outside anyways."
The woman rolled her eyes then offered Jimin a genuine smile as she bent down to his height.
"Jimin-ah-"
"No! I'll go outside!" Jimin ran off opening the front door and standing next to Hyunjoo Noona.
He hated it when women bent down to his height. The memory of when he was abandoned by his mother was all too real. However, Jimin being five-year-old still believed his Appa would come for him even if iy had already been six months down the line. The ahjummas didn't have the heart to tell him so all they could do was smile as he told them his father would be coming for him soon.
The rest of thee ahjummas joined theme outside as a sleek black Toyota Supra pulled into the orphanage. As they parked up and the engine turned off a woman stepped out of the car, pulled her sunglasses out of her pocket and putting them on her face.
"They're sunglasses for a reason. Why is she putting them on and the sun isn't out? Silly." Jimin grumbled to himself which earned him a little nudge from Hyunjoo.
"Shut up Jimin. Be nice."
"You be nice!" He retorted as he attempted to push her over as he nudged her back hard but she was barely fazed.
Hyunjoo was thirteen years old and stood much taller than Jimin so his pushes didn't really have an effect on her. In fact, she was the only orphan who was willing to put up with Jimin even if he hated her very being as he did everyone else.
The woman proceeded to open the back door and unbuckled the boy. She took him out the car and sat him on her hip. The little three-year-old with big dark brown doe eyes looked around his surroundings in curiosity. He wore a little blue puffer coat that made him look even squisher, little black sweatpants and cute white hi-top converses. He was absolutely adorable. The little boy looked around until his eyes locked on Jimin as the woman walked up to the group.
The older children bowed to the woman while Jimin stood straight with his arms crossed. The little boy begun to fidget about in the woman's hold, silently demanding to be put down so she did just that. In a split second, the little boy ran up to Jimin and wrapped his small arms around Jimin's waist as he snuggled his face into his soft belly.
Jimin held his hands up, attempting to pry to little boy off of him.
"Get this thing off of me!" Jimin screamed as he struggled to get the boy off of him.
The woman chuckled. "His name is Jeon Jeongguk. He's your new dongsaeng."
"No! I don't want one! Take him back!"
"Jimin he can't go back-"
"I don't care! I hate him, I hate him, I hate him! Take him back!" Jimin screamed.
Jimin struggled and struggled until Jeongguk looked up at him. Jimin froze, staring at the little boy. The boys eyes begun to water and his bottom lip wobbled dangerously. Jimin was quick to realise the little boy didn't like shouting just as much he didn't like being touched. The slightest amount of contact could either make him hysteric or dangerously angry.
The boy recahed up to Jimin, begging to be lifted. "Up. Up..." He pleaded with his wide eyes.
Jimin blinked a few times and swallowed thick. His arms came out shakily and lifted the little boy, using both his arms to hold him. Jeongguk wrapped his arms around Jimin's neck and Jimin turned to the ahjumma next to him.
"Looks like you have a new little friend Jimin. Jeongguk seems to like you a lot." She spoke with a bright smile on her face.
"He's mine. Okay?" Jimin announced to everyone as he looked to his left and right. "He's my little brother. Only mine..."
Jimin patted the little boys back. "And he's not Jeongguk! He's my little brother so I will name him! He's- he's Jungkook."
The ahjumma smiled and ruffled Jeongguk- now Jungkook's hair. "Welcome to the family Jeon Jungkook."
