Klaus had allowed Alec to stay for a while and when Milana had been ready to talk, he was allowed to go into the room where she was. Alec had a guilty look on his face as it had been his fault that her uncle died. The boy should have told her about her severe uncle's cancer when he was here a few weeks ago but he had been too distracted to even remember to tell her.

Milana found out just today that her uncle had been fighting cancer for months. She had fought that because he was able to beat cancer once, that he'd be able to do it again. He had been so young. Only thirty nine years old and he was already gone now.

er uncle didn't want a funeral, he just wanted to be cremated and his ashes had to be spread where his wife layed.

“Why didn't you tell me when you were here?” Milana asked Alec. “I wanted to but I had been so shocked to see your pregnancy belly that I had forgotten. I'm really sorry Milana.”

Milana looked down at her fingers. “When I got there he was already on his death bed. He wanted to see me and that was when he gave me that necklace. He told that he wanted to lie rest with his wife,” Alec informed her. Milana stared down at the necklace between her fingers. “He didn't have a funeral as we hoped he would. He just wanted his ashes to be thrown where his wife laid to rest. I wanted to tell you but I promised I would keep it until after he had laid to rest.”

That man was as stubborn as they come. She wasn't close with the man but over the past few months they became the family that they both needed. Now he was gone and she had no one. The only person who still existed of her family was Kiara Wallis. The same person who destroyed her whole family.

“Hey, you okay?”

Milana looked up at Alec and she nodded. “Thank you, Alec. Thank you for being there for him when I couldn't. You were probably more of a nephew than I was a niece to him,” she whispered looking down at the necklace. “I'm happy you were the last person he saw before he passed.”

Alec nodded. “He was like my uncle so of course I would've done everything for him,” he whispered, his eyes staying on the necklace. The boy pointed to the necklace. “What is that necklace anyway?”

“It's something that my mother gave my uncle,” Milana said to Alec who looked really confused. She rolled up her sleeve to reveal her birthmark, that was in a shape of a small leaf. “Is that a birthmark?”
