The next few months went by pretty quickly, which was saying something, since Milana was back working at the diner while Rebekah looked after Hope. The blonde didn't understand why Milana wanted to work. They had all the money they could need for the rest of their lives. But Milana, loved to work. She didn't want to sit around and just do nothing. Spending time with Hope was an absolute joy, but she hated sitting around.

She wanted to work, and that was what she had been doing. She didn't get paid as much as when she worked as an intern at the National History Museum in Chicago but it was money, and she was grateful for it.
The girl had to admit that she did miss Chicago a lot, just as much as she missed New Orleans. She spent months in that town, and she fell in love with the city, even though she spent most of her time behind closed doors.

Milana huffed, wiping off the last table. “Hey Milana. Do you need a ride later?” Jason asked the young woman. Jason had asked her multiple times if he can drop her off at her house. She only said yes that one time, because she didn't drive her car to work, and she needed to be home at six. Luckily, Rebekah compelled him to forget where her house was.

“Oh no. I can take the bus.”

“Why though? I can give you a ride,” Jason ssuggested but Milana shook her head, “No need. I need to drop by the convenience store to buy some stuff for my daughter.”

That attracted the redhead's attention behind the counter. “You have a daughter?” the girl asked shocked by this news. Milana haf only told the owner why she wanted this job, but she didn't think she needed to tell them about it.
“Yeah.”

“Oh cool. How old is she?”

“Why do you want to know?” Milana asked the girl. She had never interested in anything to do with Milana at all. The girl rarely talked to her. “I'm just making conversation.”

The girl placed her apron on the counter, and grabbed her bag before going to clock out. She was not locking up tonight, so she was going home early to go and cuddle with her baby.

The bus stop was not far from the diner, it was at a walking distance, pretty convenient for Milana. The girl saw two crows on top of the light pole and it almost seemed as though they were looking down at her. Her eyes stayed fixated on them, until the bus stopped in front of her. Milana climbdd in and when she sat down, the crows was now suddenly gone. They sat there the whole time she was there and now they were suddenly gone.
