Phil

The brunette sat on the edge of the bed, reaching for her red dress untidily lying on the carpet.

"Would you like some coffee before we go?" Phil asked bravely, sitting up comfortably.

Chloe replied without looking at him, she just proceeded on dressing up. "No."

"Something to eat perhaps?"

"I'll get something along the way," she took her purse and was about to leave.

"I should bring you back to your office safely," he said, putting his pants on.

"Oh darling, Phil, you don't have to," she said playfully as she left.

F*ck, he cursed. He clothed himself quickly and ran after her but she already got a cab before he could reach her. A part of him was shattered after she left.

The Meeting in the Conference Room

"So, Mr. Jenkins, I don't like what you're showing me. It's expensive and also, totally not practical," Chloe dropped her pen on the table as she finished talking. She grimaced at the report she was reading, not standing a second to glance at the rookie reporting in front of the board.

Phil was sitting beside her. He studied the rookie who was clearly nervous and he suddenly saw himself in that guy. That guy was once whacked who's trying to get his life together. He had the same embarrassed expression when Phil first presented in front of the Pike Industries board. He saw himself in the rookie.

"You look good, you should consider modeling," Chloe added, raising an eyebrow at the flushed man in front of them. A decent suit, chestnut brown hair, with a body like Zac Efron, and a handsome face concealed his inner weakness. "Who even brought you here?"
Her eyes narrowed.

"Miss Pike, I would like to apologize for g-giving you a bad report. T-this is my first time," the rookie tried to regain himself but upon making an eye contact with the acting CEO, the President, the intimidating Chloe, he flushed.

Chloe replied, "First time, second or third, I don't care--"

Phil placed his hand on her thigh, hoping that she'd stop berating Mr. Jenkins. He just saw another side of her -- that unforgiving glare together with a set of merciless words that will effectively crush one's ego.

Chloe looked at Phil, "What?"

"Be nice," he whispered then stood up to acknowledge the rookie's effort. "Mr. Jenkins, that would be all, thank you."

"As the acting President and Chairwoman of the Board, I just hope that embarrassing moments like this will be reduced, no. Eternally forbidden, my dear Jesse deserves the best," she spoke then gestured to Phil, "Mr. Connor, I would also like to recognize your work in New Jersey, for bringing us another client. Let's all give him a hand, shall we?"

The board applauded and Phil nodded as he sat back to his seat. The meeting proceeded but this time, Chloe took charge and formulated a new plan to get new and more clients.

Phil followed Chloe after the meeting, he was still displeased with what she did to the rookie, Jenkins. He was not there to only assist her but as far as he is concerned, he could also mold Chloe to become a better leader of the company by doing some attitude adjustment.

"Chloe," he placed a hand on her shoulder and she stopped walking, then faced him.

She sighed, "What?"
