A/N: I just want to finish this story. I have a new and better version coming later this year. I know this is poorly written at some point but I have a life in uni that is utterly devastating. I appreciate all your votes and comments, and your time allotted to read my works. Thank you so much!

Mr. Hunter Grande, the quiet rich man with silver hair, was discussing some matters with Jesse Pike again. Jesse had this nervous look in his eyes as the old man spoke to him. Hunter still had that negative vibe that scared Chloe a bit when she passed by one of the conference rooms that has walls made of the finest glass. But she ignored the scene afterwards and those who walks in her way immediately turns the other way because she's in a very bad mood. She checked her phone if she has some other urgent matters to attend to, until she bumped onto someone.
"Chlo," the man who bumped her greeted with enthusiasm.
She looked up to see a familiar face with whom she had sexual encounters with. "Dmitri?"
His green eyes lit, evidently overjoyed to see her again. He kissed her cheek. "How are you?" He yearned to hold her again.
"I-I'm good. How about you?" She stammered a bit, somehow delighted to see him, however, she's still guilty for making him hope that they have a chance together back then. He's the perfect guy any girl wanted.
"Great. I missed you," he spoke, then chuckled.
She smiled at him halfheartedly "Your dad is there in the conference room with Jesse," she told him, wishing he'd go away.
"Yes, probably discussing a new project," Dmitri explained. "But, I'm not here for my dad or Jesse. I actually want to see you. It's been a while."
"What for?"
"Have a little chat, coffee, the usual thing we do." He's one of Chloe's few friends in the city. He'd sometimes watch over Chloe and Teddy whenever Teddy drags the workaholic woman to parties.
"Dmitri, I have a lot on my plate right now so I'm sorry, I'm going to decline."
"Do you want me to help? I'm good with math," he joked in order to lighten up the mood.
That made her giggle a bit. Dmitri was close with her as a business partner. They worked together for three months and he never failed to express his interest to make her happy always. But once the contract ended, Dmitri confessed that he liked her. And they slept together but when Dmitri went to Europe to do business, she never answered his calls and she just gave him a message, "I'm not the one who will make you happy. I'm sorry."
"I've been better, Dmitri," she assured him. "We'll catch up someday, yes?"
"Promise?" Dmitri was looking forward to spend an evening with her.
"Promise," Chloe said then walked away, leaving the young lad watching her as she disappears from his sight.

Phil gave her flowers when she went home. He was apologizing to her even though he was certain he didn't do anything wrong. Her foul mood went on occasionally, but at least she's better than she was the past few days.
Chloe lied to him about the doctor's visit wherein fact she never dropped by because Jesse tasked her in two projects so she spent most of the day in the office. And she'd pop a pill whenever she's having a headache or body pain. She experienced frequent headaches before and it was due to stress. She hated going to hospitals, too. She could clearly remember when she was rushed there when blood flowed down to her legs, the time she lost her baby.
