So after we left the hospital, Rosie shrugged off Jordan's jacket.

The sun didn't burn her. She seems unaffected by the sun, which means she is able to walk in the sun whenever she pleases. I should've asked Doctor Martin what it was he was writing in that book of his because now I have no idea what Rosie is.

We took her to go eat the pizza and beef burgers. She loved them, she wouldn't stop eating. I chuckle as I carry Rosie in my arms after she eventually passed out in the car and into the house. "Man Rosie can eat." Malcolm comments laughing. "She is a growing child. I remember when I was her age, the only thing occupying my mind was food." Jordan yawns walking into the house. "That's why you were so big back then. And here I was thinking you just had big bones." Eden slaps Jordan on the back. "I do have big bones. That's why I'm taller then you." He smirks at Eden.

"Why do you always bring my height into everything?" Eden glares at him. "Because I can." Jordan looks down at Eden. "This is all too familiar." Syris laughs. "Tell me about it." I agree and make my way to the steps. "Whoa, Parker give Rosie to me." Syris says stopping me. "Why?" I ask him confused. "Because." Syris starts rubbing his neck. "It's my thing." He turns a light shade of pink. "Your thing?" I ask him confused.

"Yeah, I've become so used to putting Rosie to bed that it's weird when someone else does. Let me put her to sleep." Syris reaches out to touch Rosie but I instinctively move her away from him. He frowns at me. "Parker give Rosie to me. You're ugly face makes anyone not want to sleep." He says. "You're full of shit you know that?" I ask him. "Then you swear while she's sleeping. Do you know kids brains develop while they are sleeping so what you say to them when they sleep sticks? You just basically taught Rosie how to swear." Syris glares at me.

"She can't hear anything." I say moving to the side to walk past him but he moves in front of me again. "Just let me put her to sleep, what's wrong with you?" Syris asks me annoyed. "No what's wrong with you?" I ask him. "Mom! Dad! Stop fighting!" Cameron says snickering. This gets Syris's attention. "Wait who's mom and who's dad?" he asks them. I roll my eyes at such childishness and again try to make my way past Syris but he stands in my way again. "Wait, this is important." He raises a finger at me. I groan. "I don't have the energy for this." I tell him. "Well you better have energy for it. Who knows, you might be the female counterpart in this friendship." He snickers.

"I highly doubt it." I scoff. Syris turns to them. "So?" he gestures for them to continue. "You are the mom and Parker's the dad." Malcolm says. "Would you look at that?" I smirk at Syris. "Case closed. Now move." I say to him. He ignores me. "No, that's impossible." Syris frowns at them. "Yeah I mean, Syris is the one that tells the old man jokes." George points out. "They are jokes, not old man jokes." Syris corrects him.

This starts a debate.

I roll my eyes and make my way past Syris and up the stairs, to Rosie's room. She is sleeping like the dead. Her skin so pale, her body so lifeless and her blood cool. You'd swear she is dead if she wasn't breathing and her heartbeat. It was slow and feint but it was still there, you can hear it.

I open the door to her room and go put her down in her bed. I place her gently down and cover her with blankets. She doesn't move and continues to sleep. I do what my mom would do for me when I was young and asleep, I tuck her in and fluff her pillows. I smile once I'm done and just watch her sleep. She looks so at peace and youthful.

"Goodnight Rosie." I say and when I lean in to kiss her forehead Rosie's eyes snap open. This shocks me but I don't flinch. And in her eyes I see that the red ring around them has increased like at the hospital. I try to back up but my body is frozen. I can't move a thing. "What is going- "I stop when the room starts changing around me.

It was like everything is disappearing. I look down to try and look at Rosie but she is gone. "Rosie!" I yell panicking and I feel my body start to float. What is going on? I look back down again and I see that there's a big portal there now.

And through the portal I see images. They keep flashing by fast and the portal keeps gradually getting larger. "What the hell?" I gasp as I realize what this could be. The portal the doctor was talking about. The portal to the other worlds, it's real!

I then feel a cold chilly breeze coming from behind. I try to turn around so as to see what is causing such a breeze but my body is stiff. I can't move. "What's happen- "but stop when I'm suddenly dragged up and I start feeling tingles throughout my body, my bodies senses coming back.

I'm then brought back to Rosie sleeping with her eyes closed and I'm just right above her, going to kiss her forehead. I stop and widen my eyes. Did she do that on purpose or was it unintentional? I suddenly feel so drained and tired. I back up and my hand goes to my nose to check if I'm bleeding. I feel nothing. I gulp and fall back on the floor trying to pull myself together.

My heart is pumping, chest is wheezing, mind is running and the air is freezing.

I close my eyes and take deep breathes. I can't believe this. Rosie is from another world. A war is going to happen and Rosie is the only one who can help us but she's too young. She won't be able to. So that's why that woman, no...that's why Cara, left her with me. Up until Rosie is able to fully use her powers she won't be able to help out. She needs protecting until she is ready to protect.

'Well fuck.' I sigh and rub my face with my hands. I open my eyes and get up from the floor. The doctor was actually right. Now I wonder what he wrote in that notebook of his. Tomorrow morning I'm going to go visit him. I need to know what else he saw.

I walk out of Rosie's room and close the door behind me.
