Parker's P.O.V
After everything that's happened, Rosie passed out in Syris's arms and he went and put her to sleep.
I stand by the door watching the members say goodbye to Sam and Tanya. Apparently they were a great help with Rosie. Sam and I lock eyes. He excuses himself from the guys and walks over to me. I lean on the door frames, arms crossed over my chest. I give him a friendly smile. He returns the gesture. "Parker." He shoves his hands in his pockets. "Sam." I reply.
"It's going to be tough for Rosie for a few days but it would be good for you guys to allow her to hunt once in a while by herself you know. It keeps her healthy and avoids her being restless." He says. I nod taking it all in. "Got you, thanks." I say. He nods and sighs. "Is there something else you wanted to say?" I ask him. "Uh no. I just...it's nothing." He waves it off. I nod. "Okay then well um, thank- " "Okay wait there is something." he interrupts me, eyes wide.
"Oh?" I stand up straight. "Do, you mind if I come visit Rosie?" he blurts out. I look at him shocked. Normally humans would want to stay away from things they don't fully understand, not want to be around it. But then again, Sam is not just any normal human being. He's different.
"You want to visit Rosie? Why?" I ask him. "Well you see, I think it's best that she has a human around so that she doesn't act weird when she's exposed to humans when she's at town. And it will also allow me to keep an eye on her and continue my research on her. I mean with enough research I might just work on a cure." He rambles, his eye beaming with that curious excitement again. A cure? There's a way for Rosie to get back to normal? Is it even possible?
Hm. Sam in essence did help us out and he did figure out what's happening to Rosie. He also did bring her food to eat. Plus, he also has Tanya, who's a female so I'm hoping that she and Rosie might make it work. But it also could be because of Tanya that things in the house may become tense. Tanya and Syris have history. So putting them together under one house will be a problem not for them but for all of us. Rosie might pick up on it and not like Tanya.
Worst case scenario, someone might end up hurt. Not only physically but emotionally as well.
"Sam it's - "
"There won't be a problem. I promise." He tells me his face serious. "Tanya, Syris and I are adults now. We are no longer hot headed teenagers, so we won't be a problem if that's what you're worried about." He adds his voice low.
I widen my eyes. "What? That's not what I was going to talk about." I chuckle feeling suddenly awkward. "Well I was thinking about that." I clear my throat and shove my hands in my pockets to stop myself from fidgeting. "But that's not what I was going to talk about." I laugh uneasily. He looks at me serious and curious. "Syris told me what you said about Rosie. That the vampire venom is merely like a disease to her and so it can be cured." I say, getting serious.
"Yes, to you werewolves the venom is like a disease but to humans it's not. All the vampire characteristics are merely just side effects of the venom in your systems. Her drinking the blood is a way for her to get all the nutrients and vitamins she's not getting from normal food she won't be able to take in her system." He states agreeing with what I said before.
"So since you're a scientist you will be able to create a cure that will not only help Rosie but anyone else in her position. And you need to take as many samples of her blood as you possibly can, run tests. Am I correct?" I chew on my lower lip.
He nods. "Yes, I need to run tests on her." I sigh and run a hand through my hair. "With all of the samples how sure are you, you'll be able to find a cure?" I ask him. "I'm 70% sure." He says and I could smell it off him that he was being honest. "70%?" I frown at him. He nods. "There is a 30% chance I might fail or not make a cure for her. But I'm positive I'll be able to. I know I can." He smiles at me determined.
Sam throughout the whole day has been so excited, positive and helpful. I wonder what drives him to take such an interest in our kind, beside Tanya. I laugh at this. "What?" he looks at me confused. I shake my head. "Nothing, just that you humans are fascinating." I shrug. His face turns into a slight shade of pink. "If you call average, fragile and boring fascinating." He runs a hand through his hair. "Then thank you." He clears his throat.
I laugh at this. "You have a point there; humans are fragile creatures." I admit.
"Sam!" Henry yells from behind us. We both turn to look at him. "You can come over Sam. As long as it's Rosie related, you're welcome here." I tell him. His face lights up. "Thank you so much. You won't regret this, I swear." He shakes my hand excited. "It's okay man, chill." I retract my hands from his cold grip. "Sorry. I'm just so happy. Thank you. You won't regret this I swear." He says and starts walking towards them. They all say their goodbyes and Sam gets in the car with Tanya.
I feel Syris stand behind me, watching everything beside me. Sam kisses Tanya excitedly on the lips and laughs. Tanya beams at him, happy. "Bye!" he rolls the windows down and yells at us, driving away. "Bye!" the guys wave back. Syris walks back in the house. I follow him. "You're the one who called him so you don't get to regret it." I tell him and sit down on the sofa. He sits down on the sofa on my right. "I'm not regretting anything." He mumbles sad.
"Then, what's with the face?" I ask him, scratching a spot on my face. "What do you mean?" he shrugs leaning back on the sofa. "You look sad." I lean back on the sofa. "No I don't. You're seeing things." He plays with his hands. "Okay." I shrug letting it go. Syris will tell me eventually. He always does when something's bothering him. The guys walk in the house talking.
"Sam really saved us back there, man. Rosie was getting restless and hungry." George sighs and sits down next to Syris. "Yeah she was. I thought she might develop some funny taste in werewolves and eat me alive." Frank laughs. "Why would she eat Frank meat? You probably taste disgusting." Henry sits on the arm rest. "Hey man, let's just be happy we have her food that will last her a week at most." Jordan sits down on the sofa on my left. "Yeah, so how are we supposed to feed her? Do we like pour the blood in a bowl for her to slurp it down like a drink or something?" Malcolm asks sitting next to me.
"Why would we pour deer blood in a bowl? Are you going to rinse the damn thing?" Eden asks Malcolm squinting his eyes disappointed. "We are definitely not pouring anything in bowls." Cameron shakes his head at Malcolm also disappointed. I chuckle at this. "We'll just let her eat the way she wants to eat it alright." I tell them. They all nod. "Yes sir." They reply in unison.
I close my eyes and try to relax, enjoying the peace. "So what did Dr Martin say?" Syris asks me and like sand, the peace escapes my grasp.
