I drive the car in the underground parking lot. I see police cars parked around and everybody seems to be on edge. I get out the car and make my way towards them. One of the officers recognizes me and comes running. "Mr Woods." He greets me. "Hello." I acknowledge him and look at the number of police men gathered here.

"What happened?" I ask him. "One of the doctors was mercilessly killed last night. We found him lying on the floor of his office in a pool of his own blood. His office was raided but the culprits didn't take anything. They even left his expensive gold watch with other of his valuable in his safe behind the picture frame." He says paving a path for me to follow him. One of the doctors? They killed a doctor? Who in their right minds would kill such a valuable asset to society?

"We are not sure who or what did this. I was tasked with calling for you but I couldn't find your number in any of the books. I'm sorry." He apologies. "No it's okay. Can you identify who the doctor was?" I ask him as I make my way up the stairs leading inside the hospital. "It was a Doctor Jerry Lawrence Martins, commonly known as Dr Martin." He says and I stop walking and my heart sinks. The police officer bumps into me. "Sorry sir." He apologizes again.

Dr Martin? "Damn it!" and I start racing up the stairs instead of taking the elevator. "Sir, where are you going?" the police officer asks me, tying his best to keep up. I reach the first level and make my way past the reception area. The lady behind the reception office calls out to me. "Hey! You are not allowed in here! Hey you!" but I ignore her, racing to his office.

No, no, no, no, no! Dr Martin could not be dead. He could not die before telling me what Rosie is. He wouldn't dare die on me. I'll resuscitate him and kill him again with my bare hands, damn him! "Thank goodness a normal person! Police officer someone please stop that man!" the lady calls out to the rookie trying to catch up to me. "Sorry mam but he's one of us. I know it may not seem like it but he's quite sane." He yells also, I'd like to believe, not stopping to chitter chatter with her.

I turn a corner and I see yellow tape, taped around the murder area. I see the forensic pathology team busy working on the murder case. I hear the sound of camera's taking pictures. I make my way past the yellow tape. "Mr Woods." I hear people who recognize me greet. I don't respond and slow down as I reach Dr Martin's office. I cover my nose as the strong smell of blood infiltrates my nose, making me nauseous. I frown and stand at the doorway of the office and look inside.

And lying in the middle of the room in a pool of his own blood is Dr Martins. "Fuck." I hear myself say.

I drop my hand and step in the office staring at Dr Martin eyes wide. I walk towards him and he was looking and his finger pointed in the direction of the safe. I sniff the air once more and that's when I smelt it. The feint sweet smell of a vampire. A growl escapes from my throat as anger bubbles up inside. Something told me that the vampire responsible for this is the same vampire who injected Rosie with the venom. It may be a hunch but it's most probably accurate.

I take a deep breath to try and calm myself down. "Parker?" I hear Mr Marc call me. I turn around to look at him. He looks at me scared but I could see his trying his best to not let it show. "Calm down. Not all of us are as used to being around your kind." He tells me. I don't respond and turn to look at Dr Martin. "He was a good doctor." I say, my voice getting deeper. Thorne becoming restless inside me.

Then my heart sunk when I thought of Alec and Alice. Dr Martin was also his doctor! Damn it! I cover my mouth to stop myself from growling again and freaking out the task force assembled. "It was a vampire." I tell them and I feel the room get tense. "A vampire?" the rookie from before asks me, standing a couple of feet away from me. I nod and make my way to his desk. "You say, they didn't take anything right?" I ask and start going through the drawers looking for the notebook. They couldn't have come here looking for it, they couldn't know about it.

I didn't find it. "They left everything. Even the safe behind you." The rookie replies walking towards me. I notice the more he keeps talking to me, the closer he gets. I turn to the safe.
