Somehow I had found myself in a conversation with Amber after she ambushed me while I was getting myself another drink. Compared to how sceptical she was being the first time I met her, she was actually quite nice to talk to this time round.

"So how are you finding college so far?" Amber smiled, standing in front of me, as rested against the kitchen counter.

"Yeah it's great, I like it way more than I thought I would" I lightly laughed before lifting my red cup, full of some sort of alcoholic drink, to my lips.

"I remember when I was a freshman, I was so scared but as soon as I joined my sorority I've loved it here ever since" Amber explained, cradling her cup in her hands, as a wide smile stayed at her lips.

"Yeah, my friend, Emily, is also in your sorority and she always tells me about how fun it is" I smiled after taking a few sips of my drink.

"Oh yeah, Emily is great" Amber grinned, her, to die for, blonde hair bouncing against her shoulders each time she talked.

"How comes you didn't join?"

"To be honest, I didn't even know that sororities were a thing in Cananda. I thought they were just an American thing" I softly laughed, for some reason making Amber's eyes light up as she eagerly grabbed onto my lower arm.

"You should join mine!" Amber beamed, lightly shaking my arm in excitement, as I couldn't help but laugh in response.

"I don't know, I don't really think it's my thing. Plus, isn't it too late to join?" I replied, making Amber shake her head, as she kept smiling at me with her red painted lips.

"No not at all, we're always looking for new comers" Amber smiled as a hint of hope flashed through her eyes.

"What about my roommate?" I added, no way wanting to leave Heidi behind.

"Bring her with you!" Amber exclaimed, an eager grin on her face, as I couldn't help but softly laugh at her enthusiasm.

"I'll think about it" I sighed, sending her a smile.

Giving me a pleased smile Amber lifted her cup to her lips, sipping from it, as I then noticed her eyes passing me and looking somewhere behind me.

Following her eyes I glanced over my shoulder to see a pale looking Shawn stood in the doorway, frozen there as if he had seen a ghost.

"Hey" I smiled, trying to beckon him to come over.

Finally giving me a small and timid smile Shawn then picked his feet up from the floor and slowly walked his way over to us.

"You were gone long" I said, looking up at Shawn, as I noticed the anxious look surfacing his eyes.

"Oh yeah, sorry, there was a line to the bathroom" Shawn stumbled over his words as I then felt him place his large hand on my lower back.

"There always is" Amber added, lightly laughing, as I turned back to look at her, sending her a smile in agreement.

Feeling Shawn's hand become firmer against my back, he moved his fingers so they were clasped over my hip.

"You okay Shawn? You look a little pale" Amber pointed out, raising her eyebrows at Shawn, as I also followed my eyes up to Shawn, his face completely stiff and tense.

"I'm fine" Shawn muttered, stepping closer to me, as his chest pressed up against my back.

"Hey, are you sure you're feeling okay? We can get out of here if you want?" I soothed, reaching my hand up to hold the side of Shawn's flushed cheek.
