Dribbling the basketball up the court my hair clung to the sweat on my forehead as I ran.

Reaching the end of the court I launched myself up off my feet before aiming the ball into the net. As the ball landed through the net in one swift movement I jogged underneath it before catching the ball in my hands.

Turning around I held the ball under my arm as I looked towards the stand to see Liam sat on the bottom bench, scrolling through his phone.

"Get off your phone, we're suppose to be practising" I shouted over to him, causing Liam to eventually look up from his phone.

"Sorry I'm just texting some chick from the party last night" Liam replied before placing his phone beside him on the bench.

"Who? Heidi?" I asked as he stood up and joined me on the court.

"Yeah, I think we're going to meet up later" Liam replied as I let out a chuckle.

"You actually serious about this one or is she just another tally?" I rose my eyebrows at him before bounce passing the ball to him.

"I don't know man, I think we're both just looking for fun really" Liam laughed as I rolled my eyes in response.

"Now I tell you who I am interested in" Liam then said as he passed the ball back to me.

"Who?" I asked before bouncing the ball up to the net and throwing it in in one shot.

"Eloise" Liam answered and for some reason I felt my lips and eyebrows pull into a frown.

"Oh really?" I asked, catching the ball before bouncing it in one spot.

"Yeah she seems pretty cool" Liam explained before I chucked him the ball.

"I saw her today actually, at the cafe" Liam added as I let out a cough to clear my throat, trying to ignore how this was somehow bothering me.

"How was she?" I asked, remembering back to last night how she was nearly sick on my shoes.

"She seemed okay but she's a bit of a geek so" Liam chuckled before taking aim at the net and throwing the ball in.

"So what? You should admire a girl who puts effort into more things other than just her looks" I sighed, rolling my eyes at Liam's attitude towards girls.

"Plus if you like the girl than why the hell are you fooling around with her best friend?" I rose my eyebrows, sending him a questioning look.

"Firstly I don't like her, I'm just intrigued that's all. Plus I can't see things ever becoming serious with Heidi, it was just a drunken night" Liam shrugged as he now held the ball under his arm.

"Oh so you can see things becoming serious with Elle then? I asked, scrunching my nose up a little as I glanced down to my feet before looking up again.

"I don't know, I mean maybe. She just seems a little shy, you know" Liam explained as I just simply nodded in reply.

Putting an end to our conversation the rest of our basketball team then came jogging into the gymnasium to join us for practice.

Sitting on the edge of my bed I slid on my running trainers before tying them up. As I did so I then heard my room door open.

Looking up from my shoes Liam came walking in with Heidi following in behind him.

"Don't worry, I'm leaving" I rose my eyebrows at them, letting out a light laugh before standing up from my bed.
