First Date

"Get up and get dressed"

Charlie had been laying around moping all day. She calls them Coca hangovers. She wakes up and regrets everything that she did the day before and spends the entire day beating herself up about it. I understood, but I didn't fly across the globe to get shot at and watch her lay down. I didn't want her to linger in that state of mind so I took the initiative to plan a date night for us. Good thing I got paid before all hell broke loose.

"Why?"

"Because I realized that I've never taken you on a date. We're going to do that tonight."

She slowly sat up in the bed and stared at me like I had 3 heads.

"Because I'm married and you're engaged. No time for dates when we are constantly sneaking around."

"I know. We're going now though. So get up and get dressed. "

"What am I going to wear?"

"I went and bought you something I thought you would like."

I really admired how Charlie dressed. She was always fashionable without trying, whether she was dressed up or was casual. She peeked at the dress and smiled. I guess that was a good sign.

"Ok. Let me shower and get ready."

"Don't take all day Charlie."

I wasn't used to being romantic so I googled "romantic things to do in Italy" and a restaurant by the sea came up. I called and made a reservation. Hopefully she appreciated the effort.

2 whole fucking hours later, Charlie was ready. She said something about baking her face. Strange because I thought I impregnated a woman, not a sugar cookie. I was starving and she was playing.

When she came downstairs, I realized the wait was worth it. She looked beautiful.
