"They knew things like what?"
"There's a book. Someone has been keeping transactions and contacts in it. It can send us away forever Co."
"A book?" Something about this wasn't right. "It's more-so of a journal. It has detailed accounts of events . They have it and we are being blackmailed for it. They want 10 million dollars or the arrests won't stop. They will keep leaking names and encounters until we pay it."
"Are you kidding?! How the fuck—?" I stopped myself to gather my thoughts. I felt enraged.
"We're not paying. I'll handle it."
"How Charlie? Let's just pay it. Between all of us, we have it."
"Because I'm not a punk ass bitch. If I start paying ransoms and allowing myself to be extorted, it will never end. I've lost everything. I've been exposed and portrayed as a monster to the entire world. Our marriage is over. I might as well be Coca full time now."

It was just like him to selectively reply to what I was saying. It was always about him. "Let's not do this right now." He still had my hand secured into his. "Ok. What do you suggest we do then?"
"I will do it."
"Do what?"
"You'll know when it's done. And you'll know what to do. Everything is ok for now. Relax and lay low. Zaiyr is with Andre and Tyler and Taegan are with Lauren. Take a vacation and lay low. I'm going to take a vacation too. I need a week and then I will sort this out."
"Didn't you just come from vacation?" I gave him a knowing look. He nodded and kissed my hand. "Be careful baby."
We were on the highway headed to Tyler's condo. "Can I just come home for the night? The condo is so empty and cold." I thought about it and remembered Izzy was still at my place.
"Have Lauren pick you up. Y'all can lay up and spend time with your kids." I jabbed attempting to start an argument so he would leave me alone.
"Don't do that Co. You're the only person I want to lay up with. I would never hurt you again." "Heard that one before." "Let me come home Charlie."
"Your home is where your baby mama and kids are." "Now they're just my kids? Home is where your heart is. And that's with you."
"Stop. You know they are mine too. But the reality is you and Lauren will always be connected in that way. And I will never trust you around her again. It's unrealistic to ban you from being around her. She's your child's mother. So we won't work. Maybe I can mature and change my mind, but for now I need space." He let my hand go and sighed.
