Tyler was shaking while driving back to the ranch. His jaw was clenched and his face was red. I was fighting tears hoping Izzy understood why I did what I did.
"Co.."
"What?"
"Please tell.." he punched the steering wheel not even able get the words out.
"Please tell me that this is business. The look on your face when you didn't see me outside says it's not. I just need to know."
"Tyler.."
"Don't lie to me. Don't beat around the FUCKING BUSH! ARE YOU FALLING IN LOVE WITH THIS DUDE?"
I closed my eyes and tears started to fall. I could hear the hurt in Tyler's voice and see the pain in his eyes. I was about to break his heart the same way he broke mine. I pictured this moment a million times and imagined feeling vindicated. Only I didn't. I felt like shit.
"Yes...I love him." I was over hiding it. Mariah was right. We were headed for divorce long before Izzy came along. I don't owe Tyler anything anymore. I still felt like my heart was breaking. It was really over between us. The final ending to this era.
His face was a bright red now. Tears ran down his face, but he didn't speak to me.
"I'm sorry Tyler. You hurt me and ruined our marriage. It was no saving it after that." He nodded and wiped his face.
"You can't hurt him Ty. I let Lauren live."
"Charlie can you just shut the fuck up talking to me please? I made a mistake and fucked Lauren. The kid is not even mine! I don't love her and I could never be with her. She's my kids mother and that's it. You always held that shit over my head because we decided not to have kids but YOU decided that. You were always jealous of her for that!"
"You know why we can't have kids."
"You made that shit up in your head. We don't know if it would've been true."
