It had been a week since anyone had seen or heard from Charlie. Mariah wouldn't say much which lead me to believe she was hiding something. Her kids hadn't heard from her either and I was starting to worry that something had actually happened to her. I had been driving myself insane thinking about her. I missed her.
"You got a verse?" Toine asked me. We were in the studio, but I couldn't focus. "I'm working on it." "I know you're worried about your girl. She probably just mad about you coming home late. She'll be back when she calms down."
I just didn't think that was it. It had to have been something else. My thoughts were interrupted by the studio door opening. Three tall men burst in with guns and put them to our heads. Another man that accompanied them made a phone call while we were still being held at gunpoint. "He's here. Yes sir." I heard him say to whoever was on the phone.
How did I get caught lacking like this?
He hung up and looked at me. "Israel James right? My boss wants to see you. He'll be right in." I had a feeling this had something to do with Charlie, I just didn't know what. I was just pissed I still had a gun to my head. The door opened and a face appeared that I hadn't expected to see.
"You can put the guns down boys. He's alright I guess. What's up Israel? You were the last person to see Coca. As you know, she has been missing for a week. Can you tell me where my wife is at?"
"I haven't seen or heard from her either." "Was she mad? This isn't like her. She's not even answering for the kids."
"I don't know Tyler. I came home and all her shit was gone." He clenched his jaw and adjusted himself in the seat pulling out a pistol and a silencer that he proceeded to screw on.
"That's a problem for me. I think I've been generous enough to you. I paid you for your service even though you fucked my wife. I let you be in the same house with my kids. I even let Coca come down here and play house with you. This is how you repay me? By making her disappear or maybe even let her get taken? While you were doing what? Celebrating the baby you're having on her? Out throwing money you don't fucking have at the strip club? All this bum ass broke nigga behavior that she lowered her standard for. Izzy, you're ungrateful. That's the worst kind of person. She cried and begged me not to kill you when I should have months ago. That was my first mistake. I won't make it again." He leaned back in the chair and pointed his gun at me. I couldn't lie, he had a manic look in his eye, that had me shook. Charlie wasn't around, so I stopped carrying my gun on me everywhere. I was vulnerable, which left me no choice but to shut the fuck up and play my cards right.
"I need you to think long and hard about how she's been acting for the past couple of weeks. Any strange phone calls or weird behavior out of her?"
