Charlotte's p.o.v. .

It was the first time I had ever spoken about my childhood to anyone since the last four years. it was really difficult for me to talk about this but Zayn was my boyfriend so I had to tell him.

I took a deep breath and started talking

"Okay, so I'm gonna tell you from the beginning" I said and his arms found their way to my waist pulling me closer to him.

"Okay " Zayn said nodding

This position that we were in, on my bed like this, with his arm around my me was really soothing and comfortable and it seemed to make this conversation easier for me.

So I started

"My uncle and his wife, they used to live with us because uncle Alec didn't have any proper job and so he wasn't able to buy or rent a place.

And it was just my mom and me living in a big hoise so uncle Alec and his wife decided to come and live with us till the time they got proper jobs. "

"Wait. But what about your dad? Where was he?" He asked confused

"Umm... actually my mom and dad were never married so they didn't live together. Dad lived with Tyler's mom at that time." I said

"Oh okay" he said nodding motioning for me to continue.

"Okay, so as I was saying, Uncle Alec and his wife decided to stay with me and my mom till they got proper jobs.

I was never really close to them because I always thought that they were evil. I don't know why but whenever I looked or talked to them I got those negative vibes from them.

I told my mom many times that I didn't like uncle Alec and his wife

But my mother saw the good in everyone and so she let them stay.

Then one day, I caught Cadence, Uncle Alec ' s wife stealing money from my mum's purse. She saw me looking at her so she came to me and held me by my shoulders

"if you complain about this to your mom, then trust me, there would me no one worse than me on this earth for you!" She said venom dripping her voice.

I was only ten at that time so I got scared and never told anyone about that incident for a long time.

But then one day I gathered courage and told my mom about it.

" it's okay charlotte!" My mom said to me " they're just needy"

I was suprised at her reaction. I thought she would talk about this to uncle Alec and cadence, but she never even mentioned that incident to them.

I don't know how, but Cadence must have heard me talking to mum about her stealing money from somewhere so the next day, when mum went to work, Cadence came to me and slapped me hard shouting some curse words at me. She slapped me so hard that I was lying on the floor crying like hell.

"I told you not to tell your mom about that incident, but no! You just don't get that! Do you?" I remember her saying.

Then uncle Alec came and he hit me too! I was devastated at that moment.

No one had ever touched me let alone hit me like that!

I was still on the floor crying when he kicked me one last time in the stomach and said " when your mom comes home, you tell her that you fell off the stairs and got hurt, okay? " He said calmly before leaving em alone on the floor to weep and weep till all the water in my body was over.

When my mom came home that evening, I told her what I was asked to in fear that Cadence an d uncle Alec would hit me again and went to bed.

That was the worst day of my life."

Till now I had tears welled up in my eyes threatening to fall.

"Shhh..... its alright babe! It's all the past now!" Zayn said stroking my hair in order to calm me.

"No there's more" I said.

"That was the first time when they had hit me, after that,  day after day, when my mom went to work, Cadence used to make me go to people's houses for selling chocolates and some other stuff like that for money and when I would return home, she would count the money and of they were not enough,  Uncle Alec and her, they would beat the shit out of me.

It got worse when my mom died.

She wrote it in her will that the house that we were living in, belonged to me before dying.

And so those greedy asses started abusing me on daily basis.

They wanted the house but I wasn't willing to give it to them as it was my mom's last memory.

After trying till a saturation point, after they were convinced that I wouldn't give them the house, they left me in an orphanage.

It was after a month that dad found me and took me with him to LA."

I sighed finally finishing my story.

We both lay silently on my bed for a while without any movement.

By now, tears were rolling down my cheeks freely.

I looked over at Zayn and found him staring at the ceiling. His eyes were glossy and he looked like he was about it cry.

"Hey Zayn, you alright?" I whispered.

"I should be asking you the same question! " He said wrapping his arms around my frame protectively.

"I'm sorry Charlotte." He said looking at me sympathetically.

"Sorry for what?" I asked confused

"I'm sorry for everything I've ever done to you! A girl likeyou doesn't deserve anything but happiness in life! And I'm gonna give you that! I promise. I'll never let anyone hurt you ever again." He said stroking my hair once again.

"Thank you Zayn. Thank you so so much for being there for me. It really felt good to let it all out! And you don't have to be sorry about anything. You make me really happy you know! Happier than I have ever been in my life" I said hugging him tightly.

"Wait a second.." he said pulling away "What was your uncle doing at our prom then?" He asked confused

"I don't know" I said looking at the ceiling.

He just nodded and interwined our fingers.

I looked down at our fingers and then at him. He was already looking at me and so I leaned in and planted a soft kiss on his lips. He immediately responded and kissed me back passionately.

And that's when the door bell rang which made us pull away.

He groaned slightly but pulled away anyway.

I got up from my bed lazily and went downstairs to open the door.

As soon as I openedthe door, my eyes went wide and I felt like I was going to pass out after looking at the sight in from of me.

It was Tyler with the man who ruined my childhood i.e- uncle Alec.
