Ethan held Odette while she cried and they ended up taking a nap together. When they woke up hours later Odette sensed that Ethan needed to talk to her, so she lied and said she really had to go to work. He believed her, or at least he didn't question her, and that made Odette feel quite terrible, but not so terrible that she stayed and spoke with him.
Tic Tac Joe's was empty, and Lindsay was running the counter. Drew and Odette were on break in the upstairs loft, Odette was drinking over caffeinated black coffee and gritting her teeth. She hates seeing people eat, she doesn't know if it's an eating disorder side effect or if eating was actually a repulsive thing to see.
Drew eats sunflower seeds like a serial killer. Sticking one between his teeth and biting down with a loud crunch. Then seperating the shell and the kernel with his tounge, swallowing the tiny kernel and spitting the decimated remains of the shell into his open meaty palm.
Odette is trying not to flip out on Drew. It isn't his fault, actually it is. She stands up with a palpable irration and stomps her way downstairs. She's thankful her thighs don't rub together as her converse clad feet pound down the spiral stairwell. She's also glad that her flimsy dress is long enough to cover the wounds that Ethan made sure she bandaged.
Odette never bothered to wrap her wounds before, but she wanted to be on her best behavior for Ethan. She was so lost in thought that she didn't realize Drew was behind her until she heard him singing under his breath.
"Oh, my love Please don't cry I'll wash my bloody hands and We'll start a new life
I ripped out His throat And called you on the telephone To take off My disguise Just in time to hear you cry when you...
You mourn the death of your bloody valentine The night he died You mourn the death of your bloody valentine One last time "
Odette can only her eyes because Good Charlotte is the least frightening band she can think of, and because the lyrics further instill the metaphor about the horrifying manner in which he eats. Drew continues
" Oh, my love Please don't cry I'll wash my bloody hands and We'll start a new life I don't know much at all I don't know wrong from right All I know is that I love you tonight."
Odette walks a little faster and nods to Lindsay saying "I have to go, Ethan and I really need to talk."
