Odette cheated on Anthony when they were together. Betsy and Odette were the only ones who ever knew aside from the girl Odette had slept with, a friend of Anthony's from his childhood. She had been high, like so often during the duration of their relationship. She had done it as a test, to try and make him jealous. She just wanted Anthony to react to her in some way. She had spent numerous nights awake aching for him to hit her.
Anything to show he cared, or any of the things Odette's twisted views on life, lead her to believe was caring. It had also been insurance; something to toss into his face, should he ever leave her. She would look less stupid she had thought, it would give her the last word. "Oh you're leaving me? That's fine I was unfaithful anyway." But when Anthony left her, she had bit her tounge and choked down her pride.
Not even Ethan knew of her indiscretion. Ethan had a serious hang up about infidelity, he thought it was the worst thing someone could do. He had once divulged to her that he had desired her greatly even when with Xana. His wanting was like a swallowed razorblade, cutting him internally. Odette doesn't even really feel bad about being unfaithful, she thinks Anthony cheated too and even though she knows they do not cancel each other out, she still feels absolved.
She is fairly shocked to find that it's Anthony at her door, but then again she isn't. It's always how he seems to operate coming and going as he pleases, and nothing pleases him more than the idea that Odette will also come back to him. His logic is flawed though, Odette doesn't want him anymore. She's more than content with Ethan.
But Ethan doesn't know that, he used to. Before he had been more sure of their love, that together was their destiny than anything else. He would doubt the existence of God, Gravity, and even the blood that was coursing through his body before he would question if he and Odette were soulmates. Or whatever it was that was stronger than soulmates. Ethan believed that they were fated with every breath he took.
But Ethan's parents were comatose and he couldn't bring himself to truly believe anything anymore. He was tired, stressed, and overworked even though he was arriving home early from set. They shot all of the upcoming scenes involving Leon and were going to work around his absence until after hiatus. All he wanted was to go home and curl up around Odette. He had expected to find Anthony at his beach house, and Ethan hadn't planned on losing his cool, among a few other things.
