Both of Ethan's parents Hugh and Christine, are comatose and it doesn't look good for either of them. Ethan finally told Odette this morning. She put on a strong front, saying she believed that everything would be okay but she was actually devastated. She loved Ethan's entire family, especially his parents, they were what she had always hoped to have but never found within the ties of blood bonds.
She had Ethan if they were leaving for Michigan early, he said no because they had to finished shooting Fear Nights before hiatus. He left for work giving her a hug and a gentle kiss. So she left for work too.
Drew was there, preparing too weak coffee behind the counter, he looked shocked to see her she merely shrugged, as if she was trying to shake off his stare. Loyal patrons politely greeted her, she smiled and returned their hellos.
Odette pulled on the heavy apron and Drew turned to her and said "Your phone is broken."
"What?"
"I've been texting you, haven't got any responses." Drew clarified with the hard edge of anger and rejection in his voice.
"My phone isn't broken, Ethan is having a rough time I've been busy." Odette half lied and hated herself for using the pain of her lover to escape the wrath of her almost friend coworker.
"A rough time since before thanksgiving?" He said calling out her lie.
"Talking to you reminds me of Betsy, sometimes I just can't deal with it okay." She snapped stressed, slamming her tiny hand on the counter.
Drew was at a loss, he had no idea what he could do to make Odette no longer miss Betsy, he immediately thought of killing, he was quick to go to violence for a solution. But there wasn't a person to murder who would bring back Betsy. He gritted his teeth and stomped off, unjustly blaming Ethan.
