John B took a few minutes to drive them to Rixon's cove. They settled on the edge of the forest, hidden by trees, and lighted a campfire. Isis immediatly loved this atmosphere, warmed up by the flickering flames, surrounded by her friends. She felt safe wherever they went, as long as they stuck with her.
John B sat next to her, in the large-enough gap left between her and Kie. JJ and Pope stood in front of them.
"Hey, guys," the latter started as he sat. "So, like, my dad's already gonna kill me. So what's this mandatory meeting about?"
John B looked at JJ, pointing at him with finger guns.
"Might as well tell him, man, before we're gaffed," he replied.
"You ready for this?" asked John B, giving a questioning look.
"Yeah," said Kie.
"Definitly!" frowned Isis.
"So," he resumed. "The gold never went down with the Royal Merchant."
Pope let out a sigh.
"Oh my God, here we go again with this..."
"No, no, all right, wait," said JJ. "Hear him out, all right?"
"It's been here the whole time," related John B, his eyes shining with pure joy. "It's on the island."
"What?!" exclaimed Isis, leaning forward in shock.
"Are you serious?" asked Kie. "Oh, my God!"
She shared a wide smile with Isis.
"I'd like to voice my skepticism," maintained Pope.
Isis moved closer to him and took his hands in hers, displaying a serious face.
"Pope, I love you..." she started. "But, please-- don't."
"I'm sure you would, Pope," said John as he stood up. "But I can please present you with my evidence, sir?"
Isis came back to her seat, looking up at her friend.
