"Tanith if we have to do this now!" I shout from across the room.

"Are you sure the buildings clear?" she asks.

"Yes, Imelda and Rik did a full sweep," I reply.

"Tan. We don't have enough of these to be so indecisive. It's now or never," Cassian explains.

"Okay. Here goes." She flips the activation switch and we all teleport to the ground above and watch as everything goes up in flames.

"1 down. 9 more to go," I say.

"One at a time," Cassian adds.

"I'll drink to that," Imelda says.

"That's a great idea. Let's go back to the house," I suggest.

Everyone uses their teleportation rings and appears at the bar in our house. Yes, our house.

I should probably start from the beginning...

"Kai!" I shout to make sure he is okay after that deadly lightning strike.

"Avery!" Oh thank god, he is okay.

No, no, no, the lightning girl is preparing to strike again. Looking up at the sky, a part of me wants to scream to warn them but I know there is absolutely nothing anyone can do to stop what's coming next. I've cheated death too many times, it's my time now. I see the bolt, bigger than before, hurling towards us, praying that the others will make it out of here alive somehow. I can feel the bomb swallowing me whole after the blast triggered it, this is it, my last prayer is that Palmer, Kai, and Lorenzo survive this.

I open my eyes to a bright white light above me, a cold, concrete floor keeping my bodies temperature at bay. Where am I? Is this the afterlife?

"Who would've thought..." Dane's voice causes me to jolt up immediately and look in the direction it's coming from. That is when I realize, I am in a concrete box, no windows, no doors, just four concrete walls. A small room containing a shelf, a desk with a computer, a chair, a few cases and a TV, which is where Dane's voice is coming from. "... if you're watching this, it means that I am dead. Avery, do not be scared, I am not going to hurt you. However, you must understand that if you do not follow my instructions then you are not getting out of here. The bomb I strapped to your chair was not  a bomb designed to kill you, when set off it would teleport you here, I did however put another bomb next to that one which blew the pieces I carved out of you everywhere, just to ensure people think you're dead. Thanks Dane, that makes me feel so much better. 

Take a seat Ms Shaw..." I walk cautiously towards the chair and take a seat recalling the day he took me captive, strapped me on a metal table and skinned me alive. "I told you that you were my favourite fulminare, and it is not only because of your remarkable powers, it is also because I saw a bit of myself in you. When you leave this room, you will be my legacy. You will finish what I started, but first you must watch this..." Another video of an old lady starts to play.
