"Hey Ave. I just thought I'd come by to fill you in on everything that's going on. I brought you waffles by the way. I miss you so much and I wish you could be here, you'd know exactly what to do in this situation. Two days ago, some girl, Imelda Daniels, blew up the Salutis base in Brazil, and she somehow knows about Palmers powers, we know this because she has some sort of device in her head that stops specifically Palmer from getting in there. We think she is targeting Salutis as a whole. She's breaking us apart piece by piece. As the new head of the  base, everyone is looking at me for answers, but to be honest, I don't have any. Savannah said she could be injected too, but that is just absurd, we know who Dane injected. Savannah says crazy things all the time though, she wishes she could've met you to see what all the fuss was about. You would've liked her. Palmer misses you too, but you already know that because she sneaks in here almost every night to sit and talk to you about god knows what, but I guess we all just wish things turned out differently. 

Oh and I forgot to tell you last time but your mom learned how to make the most amazing brownies. I visit them every week, I know you'd want me to keep an eye on then and"

I'm interrupted by an agent bursting into Avery's shrine room,it must be about something important, "Sorry to interrupt sir, but the New York base sent out an SOS 2 minutes ago."

 I immediately make my way to the op center, "Any communication?" I ask.

"No sir. All their cameras went down. The SOS said there was a fire. They all had to evacuate." 

"Get the head of the base on the phone now. Find out what's going on," I instruct. 

"Yes sir."

Honestly, I wish Dane didn't die, he should have been rotting in a cell somewhere, I could really use his teleportation to get over there right now. What I can'tn seem to put my finger on is why are they evacuating the building before they destroy it? What kind of bad guy doesn't want to hurt people? 

"We heard the alarms, what's going on?" Lorenzo says marching in with Palmer. 

"New York base has been hit...with fire." 

"You don't think..." Palmer starts and I know exactly what she is thinking so I assure her, "No. Dane is dead, I'd be able to shift into him if he was alive." 

"Then who is doing this? Arlo?" Enzo asks. 

"No. Impossible. I wiped his memory of Dane, he doesn't even know he has super strength," Palmer explains. 

"Great. We're dealing with another arsonist."

Vada 

"What are they seeing?" Imelda says laughing at them running around like headless chickens. 

"They think the building is on fire," I reply. Call me sentimental but I chose fire in honor of  Dane. 

"Good one," she replies chuckling. 

"You know the drill, take Rik and sweep the building. Make sure there's no one left," I say. 

"This would be so much easier if you just set the bomb off with everyone inside," Rik complains.

"These bases house innocent children," I say thinking of Chloe and Sammy. I also hit a soft spot in Imelda because she doesn't say anything, she just turns around and walks away. 

"Alright, the bomb is set up," Cassian announces. 

"Tanith?" I ask her if she wants to flip the switch again. I forced her do it the last time to get her used to making decisions under pressure.
