Vada

Palmer drops all my friends to the ground and walks towards me until she is standing directly in front of me. There is something deeper than hurt in her eyes.

"Liar," she says with tears pooling in her eyes. I understand why she wouldn't believe me, so I have to prove it.

"The day I first officially met you at your apartment, you sensed I was injected and basically cornered me in the bathroom," she doesn't say anything with her mouth but her eyes say it all, she's tipping. I continue because everyone seems to be in disbelief, "Palmer, we found out what powers I had when you slammed my hand onto a hot stove," she swallows and takes a step back, I continue, "Lorenzo, you didn't want to kill Arlo that day in the gym because he was like a father to you." Still nothing but silence. I lock eyes with Kai knowing I have endless stories that will prove I'mm telling the truth, so I pick my favourite one, "Kai, the first time we said I love you was up on the hi-" before I can finish that sentence, I'm being slammed against the wall by Palmer.

"Palmer, stop!" Kai shouts and she drops me on the floor. He walks toward me, "Go on," he says clearly yearning for the rest.

"The first time we said I love you was up on the same hill where you followed me to the night of Maya's dinner. The first thing you ever made for me was waffles, you brought them to me in the hospital and-"

"That's enough," he says raising his hand. He hasn't looked at me in the eyes since I took the mask off.

I use the bed to stand up and use my psionics to draw the rings off their fingers. Yes I have psionic abilities too. I teleport to the bathroom to see if Imelda is there and she is,  I teleport her back to the house, then go back for the other three, in a matter of  seconds, the only person left to teleport back is Cassian. I touch him and Kai asks,  "Why?" I  acknowledge Cassian being a priority and teleport him back, I leave the rings at the house and go back to the motel.

"You let me believe that you're dead," Kai says with tears running down his face. "Mourning you was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. You abandoned you're entire family. Chloe, your mom..." Involuntarily, tears start surfacing in my eyes.

"Why?" Palmer asks noticing that it's too hard for Kai to go on.

"It's complicated-" I start.

"Then un-complicate it," she spits.

"In one short sentence: Dane wasn't the bad guy."

"Dane?!" Palmer asks very aggressively.

"You left us for that lunatic!" Her eyes start glowing and rapid wind starts forming inside the room.

"Palmer-"

"Don't you dare say my name!"

"I told you, it's complicated," I say looking at Kai and then teleport out of there and back to the house.

We have to leave. Now.
