Vada
"Where the hell did you go???" I ask/scold Palmer who randomly disappeared.
"Oh relax, I just went back to the house to take care of Savannah like Kai asked," she explains.
"What do you mean 'take care of'?" I ask worried that she did something stupid.
"I just had to make her believe Kai broke up with her weeks ago because he cheated on her, that way she will never go looking for him and she will get over him easily. She's now moving to London to be with her mom," her explanation somehow makes me more unsettled than I already was.
"Whatever, just don't do that again. Around here I'm the leader, you listen to me," I strictly say.
"Yes ma'am," she says mocking me. You'd expect her to be more mature than a hormonal growing tween because of her advanced mind, but nooooo.
"Get back to training," I instruct and she goes.
Mel was right, the 3 siblings suck, and that's me being generous. They have no technique, they just want to fight and that includes Palmer, the smartest person in the room.
"Stop stop stop," I say watching Rik try to teach them a new technique. "This is not working. Let's try something different. Let's see how you fight as a team. Palmer, Enzo and Kai vs..." I look around the room to see who I should make them fight, "Tanith," I say and her eyes pop out of her head."Problem?" I ask.
"No, I just thought you were going to go easy on them," she says stepping onto the training floor. Dane has a training room and a concrete box under every one of his hideouts, I'm curious as to who exactly he was training besides the person who trained me, but that's a story for another time.
"It's 3 against 1, I wouldn't be so cocky if I were you," Lorenzo says.
"He's so getting his ass handed to him," Mel comments and Rik and I laugh.
"Rules are, there are none, except for-" Rik starts and Mel, Tanith and I finish.
"First one pinned to the floor for 3 seconds loses."
"Exactly, you may begin," Rik says and we all stand there to watch the show. A part of me is hoping that Kai and them last longer than 5 minutes, but I just don't see that happening when Tanith dodges all of Lorenzo's electric bolts by twisting over them in the air.
Tanith is going easy on them, she hasn't even touched her powers yet, I think it's because of her crush on Enzo.
"Come on Tanith, don't go easy on em!" Mel shouts as if she read my mind. This distracts Tanith and Palmer uses that as an opportunity to slam her into the wall. Tanith gives Palmer a deadly look and that's when we know she's going to use her powers.
"Here it comes," Rik excitedly says. Tanith's eyes roll back and she pushes off the wall, surprising Palmer and the others.
"Dragon?" Mel asks referring to what animal Tanith channeled.
"No, we would have heard the roar or felt the wind of the wings, not to mention she would light their asses on fire," Rik responds.
"I say she's a centaur, it's the only reasonable explanation for how she pushed off the wall and went against Palmer's powers," I suggest.
"Get your healing thing ready V, I can't imagine them still standing after getting kicked by a horse," Mel says chuckling.
She's right though, Tanith kicked Lorenzo who went flying into Kai and then into Palmer, they're lying on the floor like tipped over dominoes.
"1,2,3, you're out," Rik says and Mel cheers for Tanith.
"Centaur right?" I ask Tanith to confirm my guess.
"Yessssss," she says.
"Yasssss," I say high-fiving her. "You 3 are done for today, just check on Cassian and then do whatever you want but stay here, okay?"
"Got it boss," Mel winks and they all teleport away to Cassian who is working on figuring out that whole binding ritual thing.
Palmer moaning on the training mat brings me back into focus, I need to heal them. Poor things, that must have hurt. I heal Lorenzo first because he is on top and then I help him up. I heal Kai and Palmer simultaneously to cut the awkwardness between us with a third party. I help Kai up and Lorenzo helps Palmer.
"You don't even need us, your team can take theirs down easily," Lorenzo says rubbing his back.
"I wish that was true, there's 7 of them and 5 of us, they're as powerful as we are, possibly even more powerful. We need you guys," I say.
"As you can see, we're not good enough to take you guys on, I doubt we'll even stand a chance against them," Kai says hopelessly.
"We still have time, I will help you guys one on one now to deal with specific flaws. You're all powerful, you just suck at fighting other powerful people," I explain. "You two catch a break, I'll start with Palmer," I say and they leave. "Alright Palmer, I noticed how you favour your right hand..."
*****
After training Palmer and Lorenzo for 3 hours each, I am tired of being in this room, but I still have one more to go. I promised myself that this won't be weird because I will keep this all about the training.
"Okay Kai let's get started," I say as soon as he appears in the room.
"Oh now you wanna talk," he says while rolling his eyes.
"Can we just keep this about the training please?" I ask not in the mood for this at all.
"Fine," he says.
"Okay good, now let's start with your powers," I say.
"What about them?" he asks with a bit too much attitude for my liking.
"Well you don't use them during fights, you just met 4 powerful people, use that to your advantage, change into them, use their powers to your advantage," I passionately say.
"Okay fine," he says and then seconds later it's like I'm looking in the mirror.
"That's not funny," I say.
"That's not funny," he mocks.
This is going to be a long night.
