Vada

No this can't be happening, "Dad, Chloe, Jason," I say stepping toward them but Idris stops me. "I swear to God if you hurt them-"

"You'll what? Rip my head off?" he says daringly.

"You see the problem with your beheading expedition is that when you kill the body hosting my consciousness, I don't die, I simply find a new body to takeover. You killed three of mine, I took three of yours," he says looking at my family standing there, not a trace of their personalities in their eyes, but I have hope, I'll do anything to save them.

"I'll do anything you want, just let them go," I desperately say.

"They're already gone," Jason says.

"And there's nothing you can do to get them back," Chloe adds and I feel the pieces of my shattered heart burning away.

"Keep killing my bodies, and I'll keep possessing the people you care about," Tasia says with a warning smile.

"Now I believe you have something that belongs to me," Clover says while walking towards Mel.

"I don't know where it is," she barks.

"Someone in this room does," Idris says now choking Palmer with his arm, "Hand it over or I'll send her to the heart of hell where she'll die in seconds."

"Okay," Cassian says surrendering. "I'll give you the serum, just let her go."

"Such a hero," Tasia starts, "Too bad you didn't get the girl," what a bitch.

"What are you waiting for?" Clover asks after Idris let's Palmer go, waiting for Cassian to give her the serum. He cautiously walks to the wall and moves one of the paintings, a key is revealed, he takes the key and walks over to carpet, he lifts it up and uses the key to open up a box. How have I never seen this before? When the box opens, he reaches in and pulls out a vile and hands it to Tasia.

"It's not too late to switch to the winning side," Tasia flirtatiously says to him after he puts it in her hand.

"I'd rather not cross over to the psychotic bitch side," he responds.

"I prefer to call it the winning side," she cockily says. "Your loss," she turns around and Idris opens a portal which they all step through and disappear into, including dad, Jason and Chloe.

"Vay I'm so sorry," Tanith says breaking the silence in the room.

"Don't be, we're going to get them back," I confidently say, I have to believe that. "First we bring my mom back and then them."

"Maybe we should get them back first while their bodies are still breathing," Mel says with low key disgust, I'm guessing she can smell moms body decaying.

"Okay, as long as we get them back," I reply, willing to compromise. "Stop acting like Cynthia cut out your tongues, any suggestions?" I say to my team who is filling the room with deafening silence.

"Oh right," Cassian starts. "I bought us a bit of time, I knew they'd come looking for the serum," he starts smiling. "I made an exact replica and put it in a cliche hiding place to make them think it's real."

"You fucking genius," Rik says sighing in relief.

"Tasia also gave something away without realizing it," he continues. "She said she'll keep possessing the people you love," he says like we're all just going to understand where he is going with this.

"That means we can exorcise her out of their bodies," Tanith says optimistically.

"But she's not a demon, we can't perform a conventional exorcism with holy water and a bible," Palmer says.

"Yes but we can figure out a way to get her out," Cassian assures.

"Are we forgetting about the fact that if we do that, she'll just jump right back into someone else's body, maybe one of ours," Rowan argues.

"There's a reason she went for Vada's family and not us," Cassian starts. "We have mind inhibitors that she can't get pass, well us five do, but she doesn't know that you guys don't have them."

"Let's say we do use mind inhibitors, we're protected, what about the other billions of people on the planet?" Skye asks.

"That's not what I'm saying, if we can use the mind inhibitors to lock her out, then maybe-" Cassian starts but Palmer finishes, "...we can use them to lock her in."

"To do that, Cynthia has to possess someone with an inhibitor," Kai says and the atmosphere in the room completely changes.

"That's not even a question, it will be me," I say firmly, not allowing any debates.

"We all know how stubborn you are, so okay," Mel says.

"This is crazy," Enzo says protectively. "Besides, to do that, Cynthia has to be in one body and in one mind," he says raising a lot of concerns I hadn't even thought of.

"We have to trap all seven of them and kill Idris first so that they have no way out, when we kill them, Cynthia will try to possess someone else," Cassian says looking at me, "I'll adjust your inhibitor to let her in and then trap her, it will be up to you to take her down on the mental battle field."

"What happens if she loses?" Kai asks worriedly.

"Then Cynthia will have full control over her body," Cassian hesitantly answers.

"No ways," Kai says, "That is way too risky."

"Everything we do is risky Ka-"

"No. I am not losing you again," he says rendering the room silent...again.

"We'll put a pin in it," I say as if there's a chance I'll back down. "You left out a big part of the plan, bringing back my siblings and my parents," I say looking at Cassian.

"The only way to get Cynthia into one body is to kill all seven," he says avoiding eye contact.

"You can't seriously be considering killing my family," I say in disbelief.

"Of course not Vada," he says.

"Maybe if we capture them and put inhibitors in their heads, we can drown Cynthia out," Tanith says trying to find a morally acceptable solution.

"She'll just possess three new people, but lemme guess, their lives are expendable?" Skye asks judgmentally.

"She won't be able to possess anyone else if we trap her inside of realm," I say.

"What if she escapes? You'll happily throw other people's lives under the bus as long as the people you give a damn about are okay, I'm sorry, but I can't be apart of this," Skye says and storms out, Rowan sighs and follows her.

"You know she's not going to come around right?" Mel says to me.

"I know, we'll make do without her."
