Vada
"I don't have much time, listen up. Ambrose aka George, is Cynthia's son, they are immortal, they never age but they can alter their appearances. All seven of them are alive, Ambrose, Idris, Yvonne, Heska, Tasia, Niko and Clover. Clover controls emotions, Yvonne controls fire, Ambrose earth, Idris has control over darkness, Heska air, Niko water and Tasia is spirit. They are linked to the 7 pillars Electus was built on, that just means Imperium was meant to give everyone one of the seven powers, but as time went on, Imperium became more advanced and gave us the powers we have today. They want to control our team specifically because together we're undeniably powerful.
In case I don't see you again until you attack,Lorenzo and Kai, they don't know about you, use that to your advantage, you have the element of surprise.
Do not go back to your house, they are looking there for Palmer. Stay hidden and train, do not attack until you get my signal, we have to get Tanith and Rik back first. Oh and Tasia is Taniths 'cousin', she killed the real Tasia Smith and has been posing as her for a long time now.
They can't be killed, Cass and Palmer, try to figure out how to make cells or handcuffs that can hold them and suppress their powers. I will try find their weak spots but unless you get my signal, all of you stay hidden, god knows what will happen if all of us are under their control, understood?" they all nod. "Good, I have to go, take care of each other."
"Avery," Kai starts but I can't deal with this now, I have to get back before they notice I left.
"It's okay, keep my team safe," I flash a semi-smile and teleport back.
Kai
"You heard her, Palmer and I will work on some technology, everyone else, get to training," Cassian orders like he is in charge here.
"Yes let's get to training, we have to be prepared to fight some really old, immortal people. If we can't kill em, we're sure as hell are going to hurt em," I say walking towards the locker with my old gloves that I wear for training.
"Let's go pretty boy," Imelda says to me when I approach the ring with my gloves on. I don't say anything, I just step into the ring.
"Ding ding ding!" Enzo says while standing on the side to watch.
I throw the first punch and she dodges it so I throw 3 more, and she dodges them all. She smiles when she notices my surprise and uses that opportunity to grab the arm that threw the last punch and use it to flip me over so I land on my back.
"1,2,3, you're out," Enzo says mocking a boxing referee.
"You're next," Imelda says, clearly enthusiastic to put Enzo on his ass, which she will, I've never fought someone with such impressive reflexes.
"Alright, let's do this," Enzo vainly says while stepping into the ring.
"Ding ding ding!" I say mocking Enzo who said this earlier.
She throws the first punch and it lands right on his jaw, knocking him senseless. He regains his balance and spits outside the ring, he then looks at her and kicks her in the leg.
"Son of a bitch," she says holding her leg, who wouldn't, Enzo could probably cripple you with his kick. The fact that she can go on is impressive.
She shakes her leg out and Enzo throws a punch which she dodges, she uses that opportunity to return the favour and kick him in his leg, well both his legs. Who would've thought Enzo would ever be on his knees for a girl. While he is still on his knees, she finishes him off by giving him one last power kick to the face, which knocks him right out.
"Impressive," I say stepping into the ring to heal him as Avery.
"You should see us when we're trying," Imelda scoffs.
"Let's show him," Cassian says taking his jacket off.
"Shouldn't you be working?" I ask.
"Vada did say we should train, I can spare a few minutes to show you boys what a real fight looks like," he says in a tone that is just too cocky for my liking. I heal Enzo and we exit the ring to watch.
"Rules?" Cassian asks.
"First one pinned to the ground for 3 seconds loses, you know the drill," Imelda says while getting into her stance.
"Ding ding ding!" Enzo says and they start.
Cassian throws the first five punches which Imelda skillfully dodges. She ducks down to avoid another one and sweeps Cassian off his feet with her legs. I'd be lying if I said watching that guy getting his ass handed to him wasn't oddly satisfying. He flips back up and she tries to kick him but he does a backflip to dodge it. He gets to the end of the ring and Imelda smiles, a rather disturbing smile I might add, and she punches him in his abdomen so fast that I can't even count them. One would think that would knock him out, but all he does is roll to the side and stare at her intently, in seconds she is flying against the room and banging into the wall. She falls to the ground on her hands and knees, and looks up at him and rolls over like he hit her with something. She surprisingly starts running along the wall toward him, she then uses the wall by running on it for a brief second and pushing off to land a punch on his face, when he stumbles, she grabs him by his waist and slams him onto the ground and finishes it all off with an elbow to his stomach.
"That's gotta hurt," Enzo says wincing. "1,2,3, you're out," he says after Cassian has been laying there for five seconds already. "We have a winner!" he says holding up Imelda's arm and looking around like there's a crowd. "Your teammates must hate going up against you in training," he says when she helps Cassian up.
"No actually, I don't win every match, the only one of us who never loses is Vada. She can kick all of our asses any day and any time," she responds.
"I find that hard to believe, I almost kicked her ass once until she used my own powers against me," Enzo says.
"That's because you fought Avery Shaw, you have never been up against Vada Vaccari. After what I saw here today, she could kick both your asses at the same time, with one hand behind her back," Cassian adds and walks back to Palmer, earning a chuckle from Enzo.
"You laugh but he is not joking, Vada has been training nonstop for two years, night and day, and when she wasn't training, she was out in the field fighting anti-fulminares. She's the only one who can beat Cassian when he uses his powers on full blast," Imelda says to Enzo, clearly unimpressed with his nerve to laugh.
This conversation got me thinking though, Avery hasn't been Avery in two years, she has been Vada Vaccari, leader of the deadliest team I've ever come across. She did that, she trained them, she took care of them and she had to do it on her own. A part of me is still mad at her for not letting me know she's alive, but another part of me understands and feels really bad about the fact that she was alone. No family, no friends, just instructions from her psycho uncle.
I have to let her know how insanely proud I am of her.
