"That way we can prepare ourselves for everything they throw at us," Cassian says smiling.
"What are you waiting for? Tell us about them," Tanith demands clearly excited.
"You know about the girl, Palmer. She has super mind powers. She can move things telekinetically, she's intelligent, she can read and control your mind, that includes the ability to steal your memories," I explain.
"Steal our memories?" Tanith asks, fear evident in her voice.
"Yes. The inhibitors will prevent that from happening, don't worry. The only thing we can't prevent is her telekinesis."
"So what? She throws a rock and we catch it," Rik arrogantly says.
"Not necessarily. You are the rock she will throw in that case."
"Sounds like she'll have a hard time moving something that is moving through the particles she can control," Cassian says, an idea clearly manifesting.
"What?" Imelda says on behalf of all of us when Cassian doesn't explain.
"You know how I can walk through walls because of my intangibility power? Well, if I made all of us intangible, she wouldn't be able to hit us with anything or throw us around."
"You can make us all intangible?" Rik asks.
"Temporarily yes."
"So that's Palmer. Who's next Vay?" Tanith asks looking at me.
"Lorenzo. He has the ability to release electro-magnetic shock waves."
"If we're basically walking holograms he can't hit us can he?" Imelda asks turning to Cassian.
"I'll have to run some tests, but from my understanding, no," Cassian answers.
"Who's the last one?" Tanith asks.
"Kai. Lorenzo's brother. He has shapeshifter abilities."
"Oh wow. I thought you were saving him for last because he is the most powerful," Imelda comments.
"Oh he is."
"Because he can turn into a lama?" Rik says earning a laugh from everyone.
"No, because he can turn into you and when he does that, he takes on your powers too." The room goes silent. I continue, "He can also shapeshift objects into something else, for example he can shift your ribs into broken ones. He can break every bone in your body that way." They're all silent... that's what I thought.
"If he can't see us, he can't shift into us," Cassian says.
"Does this mean we get masks?" Tanith says getting excited again.
"Yes and, Vada, you can make people see what they want to see. Make him see black and he won't know what he is dealing with," Cassian suggests and then continues, "Give me a couple of days and I'll have everything we need to face the LA Salutis base."
"Alright. Until then no one leaves this house. The LA base is on to us and they have probably sent out wanted posters for Imelda and everyone she's working with, to the other bases." No one answers so I ask in a stern way, "Am I making myself clear?"
"Crystal," Rik answers.
"I want everyone else training until we leave." Everyone teleports out, except for Cassian because he needs to get to work.
"What's wrong?" I ask when I see Cassian staring at me.
"Nothing. I'm worried about you."
"Me? Why?"
"After everything you've told us about your old life, I just find it hard to believe you'll be able to go up against these people who were once your family."
"Cassian. I've said this before and I will say it again... Avery Shaw is dead. She is never coming back. You guys are my family now. There is no competition."
"If you say so," he says but his tone suggests that he doesn't believe me.
"I do say so. There is no Electus vs Salutis. It is right vs wrong, and we are on the side of right. Salutis is bad and if the family I once had chooses the bad side, then they've made their choice. If it comes to it, they will go down just like every other power hungry person at Salutis."
