Vada
"Can you stop acting like such a child," I angrily say to Kai who refuses to change into anyone else but me.
"You're one to talk," he spits back and I scoff. He changes back into himself and says, "No seriously Avery! I told you something that was very hard for me to say and you just ignore it like-"
"Like what?!" I yell back.
"Like a child!"
"Yes because children walk away from apologies they can't accept all the time!"
"Oh so you can't accept my apology? Well at least I had the decency to apologize!"
"I didn't apologize because I'm not sorry about any of it!" as soon as it leaves my mouth I regret it.
"You're not sorry for lying to me, to Palmer, to your mother, to-"
"I did what I had to do!"
"That's bullshit Avery!"
"My name is Vada! Avery Shaw is dead!" he looks so surprised by my words, he doesn't say anything for a solid 10 seconds.
"You're right. Avery Shaw is dead and she would be nothing but ashamed of you."
"And she'd approve of you? Kai Grayson who moved on with life not long after my funeral."
"What are you talking about?"
"I saw you. I tried to forget. But 2 weeks after my funeral I saw you with another girl, you had your arm around her and you were walking into the movies," I explain trying not to feel my emotions.
"She was just a friend at that time."
"Not from where I was standing," I say keeping my eyes locked on the ground.
"Are you telling me that you would have come back to me if you hadn't seen me with her?"
"No. I don't know maybe," I answer and he sighs and leans against the wall with his hands.
"Jealousy is what kept you away?" he judgmentally asks.
"No Kai. Jealousy was not what kept me away. It just made me realize that I needed to let you go and move on with your life."
"That was not your call to make!" he says now facing me.
"Yes it was Kai! Dane gave me a life plan which you were never meant to be a part of."
"I wasn't even meant to be at the hospital that day we met, my mom wasn't meant to abandon us, my dad was never meant to be a fighter, not everything turns out the way we planned but either way, it turns out, and we have to live our lives accepting what happens-"
"Really Kai? You have the audacity to say that after you chose to erase me completely from your mind, is that accepting what happens???"
"You're right, it's not. As sorry as I am that I made that decision, I still understand why I did it, how do you expect me to just be okay with the fact that you're alive and I'm not with you???" he asks and I keep quiet no knowing how to respond."I tried for 2 years to accept your death, but there is no way I can ever accept the fact that you are alive but you're not in my life. I can't even begin to comprehend how you chose a life where I was with another girl-"
"I did it the same way you chose a life where I didn't exist!" I scream and everything around me shatters into pieces and Kai goes flying into the wall. I rush toward him not knowing what just happened, all I know is that I have to heal him, which is exactly what I do.
"What the hell happened???" Enzo asks appearing with everyone else.
"The entire house shook," Mel says rubbing her eyes.
"I...I...don't know," I shake knowing I could've killed Kai. "I...I...I'm so sorry," I say to him and teleport outside to get some fresh air.
Kai
"Give her some space, she'll come around," Tanith says to me after I ran around the whole house and didn't find her.
"Are you okay?" surprisingly Imelda asks when everyone goes back to bed.
"What do you think? I did that to her and she's out there somewhere thinking it's her fault."
"I can back you up on that, I heard everything, it was definitely your fault," she says like that's supposed to be comforting."I didn't know Avery Shaw, the cancer girl who you fell hopelessly in love with, as she puts it, her 'blue eyed angel', but I know Vada Vaccari a hell lot better than you do. I know she keeps it together when the rest of us fall apart, she doesn't let herself feel anything, but ever since you found out she was alive, it's almost like she can't help but feel the feelings she has for you. The fact that you broke her out of her trance is proof enough. She hates herself for loving you to this day because you are the one thing about Avery Shaw that she just can't seem to let go of. So take it easy on her," she explains, taps my shoulder and walks away leaving me speechless.
