"People?" I ask not fully comprehending what Cassian means.
"Yes people, as in making multiple people, one person," he explains.
"Woah, back up. What just happened?" Lorenzo asks and we all look at him confused. "You guys burst in here fighting, you stopped a bullet and then he, who shot the bullet, just fell to his knees and now we're moving on?" he says like his mind just blew up.
"Rik was under Clovers influence so he shot me, Avery stopped the bullet using Palmers powers because the last person she healed was Kai, and then used her hallucinikinesis powers to make Rik see-"
"...me getting shot," Imelda says.
"...yes and that snapped him out of it, now we're focusing on what the scroll on Tasia's desk means because it could tell us exactly what they're working on," Tanith explains.
"Can we go on now?" Cassian rudely asks.
"Hey," I sternly scold.
"Sorry, but we do need to figure out who they are joining and why," he continues.
"And what we're going to do when they find us, Clover can easily take control of all of us," Palmer adds.
"Did you come up with a way to contain them?" I ask.
"Sort of, we can't contain them, well we can, but there's not enough time to develop that kind of technology now. Instead, we created a serum that will put them in a long ass coma," Cassian explains.
"Okay so we need to get however many we need into Clover to knock her out, the rest we can handle if we go head to head," I say.
"We can," Mel scoffs looking at Kai and Lorenzo. "They can't."
"I'm sure they can, they were training at Salutis for years," I say trying to defend them.
"Training with your friends showed us that we were training to fight dogs while you guys were training to fight ten bears," Kai says and I laugh.
"Dogs could beat you, you guys were trained to fight each other," Mel says and everyone laughs except for Kai and Enzo.
"Don't worry, we have at least a couple of days before they find us, I'll make sure you're prepared," I comfortingly say to them.
"George found us in a house that was hidden under an illusion of a fake burnt down house, what makes you think they won't find us here? We're out in the open," Rik says.
"Oh we're not staying here. We're going to one of Dane's hideouts in Madagascar. Besides I took the one extra bomb we had and set it to go off at 4 am, which is in 2 minutes," I say looking at my watch."Everything of theirs will be destroyed including them, they'll need a few days to recover," I continue.
"Genius plan, like always," Cassian praises.
"Thank you," I say dramatically."Let's get moving now so that everyone can get a good nights rest so we can train our asses off tomorrow," I say and earn a moan from my team. "Oh and I'm teleporting you guys there one by one directly into the hideout, we can't risk being spotted anywhere outside," I say knowing they wouldn't be able to teleport directly in. "So gather your things and let me know when you're ready to go," I add and they all walk away to get their things.
"I'm ready to go," Kai says.
"That was fast," I say.
"Well, when you're dragged out of bed and forced to remember your dead ex girlfriend who isn't actually dead, you don't have much time to pack anything."
"Okay let's go then," I say with the best smile I can put on after his triggering words. I put my hand on his shoulder and teleport him to the house in Madagascar. "Congratulations, you get to choose a bedroom first," I say trying to lighten up the awkward mood. "Oh and I will bring you everything you need, toothbrush, clothes, whatever."
"Thank you," he says and that's all he says which makes the room become intoxicated by awkwardness.
"No problem, I should g-"
"I'm sorry," he says interrupting me, I just look at him not knowing what else to say.
"It's okay," it's not but what else am I supposed to say?
"No it's not. I chose to erase you from my head because I could not comprehend how on earth you could fake your death and let me mourn you for years..." he says and I don't know if he is still apologizing or getting upset all over again. "But being around your friends, seeing and hearing about everything you've done for them, everything you've gone through alone...It made me realize how undeniably selfish I was, I didn't even give you a chance to explain, and for that, Avery I am really sorry," he says and all I can focus on right now is holding back my tears. I can't cry, I won't, it took me so long to be at peace with everything that has happened, having to lie to everyone, leaving him and then watching him move on with his life, watching someone you love fall in love with someone else is torture, that was probably the hardest part of it all.
I can feel my emotions banging against the door, forcing themselves back in, if I stay here any longer I will break at the hands of this blue eyed angel. We're dealing with a threat bigger than ever, I can't be distracted by all of this. I look at him one last time and teleport back to the gym.
