thirty three
He was working with his best friend when the stupid archangel came.
The shifter sometimes regretted saving the bastard's ass, taking on the Alpha of his species had made him the Alpha. And unfortunately, with that came the curse of immortality. At least he'd be able to look after his descendants right?
Wrong.
The tiger cub was taken by her father after he supposedly disappeared.
Finding out that there was more to his small world than Originals and vampires and shifters and Alphas and witches had been a big deal.
Angels?
Dragons?
Demons?
It was a real big deal.
Tristan just didn't want to think about it most days. And admittedly he'd been very lost until he met Charlie Weasley.
A platonic soulmate who appeared out of nowhere, curious to why there was so much fire based activity surrounding the small island he had secluded himself to.
The strongly built Core wizard was overly inquisitive, a true dragon at heart, wanting, needing to know what reptilian giant staked claim to the mysterious island.
But instead, he found the Alpha of the Tiger Shifters, who practically looked like a Weasley himself, if not for the way he held himself and his lack of blue eyes.
Getting off track here.
St Michael of the Asshole Angels had been waiting for him when he returned home from helping Charlie with the newest addition to the Romanian Dragon reserve, a Chinese Fireball.
Tristan had been the only one able to get close enough to manhandled it away, being a fireproof supernatural creature had its benefits.
But his red beard was the smallest bit singed.
"Tunderson."
The startled Alpha let out a snarl as he shot around, his claws out and golden eyes flashing silver.
The snarl calmed only slightly to a low, dangerous growl, "You."
The oldest Archangel tipped his head at the redhead.
"What do you want?"
Michael sat gracefully on one of the elegant dining chairs that remained unused since bought. The blue eyed archangel studied the Tunderson closely, always so surprised by the creature's manners, even though his whole world had been upended by himself and his own stupid mistake.
The Tiger could teach the Winchesters a thing or two for sure.
But the eldest son of God severely begged his father that such an occurrence would never happen. Tristan knew too much about Michael...and for those boys to learn anything that he did know...
They'd never let him forget it.
"It's Tempest."
Immediately the Alpha was on edge.
"She's shifted again."
Tristan swore under his breath, then rubbed his mouth with his right hand, his left landing on his waist, "Oh, baby girl, what happened?" he whispered to himself.
"She witnessed her best friend be slaughtered for a ritual... that ultimately, failed anyway but she doesn't know that."
The red head closed his eyes. If he were to lose Charlie...
"Where is she?" he continued in a soft voice.
"I've sent her to a place where I believe she will be safe. But she is moving very fast. I've interfered enough as it is, Tunderson. You know why I'm doing this for you."
The Alpha nodded, a glimmer of gratefulness sparking in his chest.
Michael kept his eyes on the redhead for a few seconds before, "Tunderson."
Said man paused, just as he was about to leave the room to prepare himself.
"When you saw me that, what did you think?"
"i thought I saw a stupid young boy attempting and failing to kill something he knew nothing about."
The Archangel watched carefully, "Why did you assist me that night? Why not your kin?"
"I thought you were just a stupid kid, Michael. A ridiculous little boy who perhaps thought he could prove to his father how much of a man he really is," Tristan pursed his lips and studied the celestial being before him, "But I suppose that isn't too far from the truth now, is it?"
Michael clenched his jaw slightly and narrowed his eyes, feeling his patience beginning to wane. But...this Tiger shifter did save his life.
How the previous Alpha had managed to take his Angel blade from him...he'd never know.
"But even then... You never meant to kill him. Only protect me-"
"Your point?" Tristan growled out, now thoroughly annoyed as the need to get to the last remaining Tiger shifter swelled.
Again the Archangel remained silent for a few moments as he thought over something that he had only once offered another.
"When the supernatural die, Tunderson, they go to purgatory."
"I know this, angel, I do."
"When you die, Tristan," the forehead looked at the archangel with a sharp inhale, knowing that this was the first time since they met that Michael had said his first name, "i offer you a choice."
"What? Become an angel? A soldier? A-"
"No," he cut him off straight away, "A leader," the celestial being straightened his back, "An archangel."
Tristan was stunned. He was just struck dumb...
But... Now was not the time.
He cleared his throat and looked to the floor, "Where is she?"
Michael understood. That was a huge thing to offer.
"Africa. I've made sure to block all magics towards her, so no one will be able able to find her, besides myself...and..."
"'And'?" the Tiger narrowed his flickering eyes.
"Perhaps Lucifer."
"WHAT?!?!"
"Your kin causes quite the amount of chaos as an Alpha of her own species, Tunderson. I can block my two younger brothers, And Lucifer will find it hard... But given enough effort and of course the interest to find her, he would be able to because she is a creature of chaos."
Tristan shook his head to gather his thoughts, needing to calm himself before he set his gold eyes on the oldest Archangel, "Just take me to my niece."
