Chapter Twenty Three

"How can you hide that from me, Isabela? They are from Creighton, they're my responsibilities," he said, clenching his jaw. I bit my lower saka tumingin lang sa baba.

Dito kami sa labas ng mansyon nila auntie Amanda nag uusap, habang sila Dallas ay andoon pa rin sa loob. I looked at the sky, malapit na itong mag dilim. I can't look in his eyes because I know that he's mad. Siguro ay dumaan muna siya sa palasyo kaya naikwento sa kanya nila auntie Amanda.

"Kahapon ko lang rin naman nalaman," pagdadahilan ko. Balak ko naman talagang sabihin sa kanya, I'm just waiting for the perfect timing.

"We met earlier, hindi mo naisip sabihin?" He argued as his eyebrows furrowed. Kitang kita ang kulay ginto niyang mga mata lalo na't padilim na.

"I just don't want to distract you, because I know you were busy at Creighton. Hindi maganda na may bumagaba--" he cut me off.

"But they are my people, Alexis. Responsibilidad ko kapag may mali silang nagawa," nagsimula nang maging malumanay ang boses niya. Naiintindihan namin ang isa't isa dito, at alam ko rin namang may mali ako, but I have my reasons.

"It's not your fault, Kaiden." I held his face as I caressed his cheek, he closed his eyes before he held my hand. Marahan niya itong hinalikan saka bumuntong hininga. He looks so calm now.

"I'm still sorry.." he said while looking in my eyes, bakit parang damang dama ko ang paghingi niya ng tawad?

I shooked my head.

"We still don't know kung tiwalag ba ang mga 'yon o hindi, pero kung ako ay sigurado akong mga tiwalag iyon. Dahil sa tagal nang hindi magkasudo ng lahi natin noon ay walang pumapatay ng isa't isa, maliban nalang nang magsikalatan ang mga tiwalag," I grunted.

"I'll investigate about that, our elders should know about this. I'll arrange a meeting later," he stated.

He cupped my face with his both hands.

"I'll make sure to hunt and to get rid of those lycans, Isabela, I promise." He whispered. 

I bit my lower lip before I nodded, he gave me smack on my lips. I immediately grabbed him to hug, hindi ko alam pero parang gusto ko siyang yakapin ng matagal ngayon na tila bigla siyang mawawala siya sa akin. It took a lot of minutes before I pulled out.

"You missed me that much, huh?" He smirked, I rolled my eyes.

"Oo. Pero pagkarating agad dito pinagalitan pa ako," I said sarcastically, I also act like I'm really yawning that's why he burst out laughing. I gasped when he pinched my nose again.

"'cause you're so secretive," he hissed.

"Bakit ikaw? Wala kang sikreto sa akin?" I fired back that's why he stopped. I gave him a confusing look, he just smile before he pat my head, marahan niya pa iyong ginulo kaya sinimangutan ko siya.

"You think so?" Seryoso niyang tanong kaya nagulat ako, he raised his eyebrow. Biglang bipolar.

"Subukan mo lang," I said in a warning tone. He just smiled at me, biting his lower lip before he held my hands again.

"I will never hide anything from you, Isabela. And if I did, I'm sure that I have my own reason. Just trust me, okay?" He stated in a husky voice. Even though hindi ko naintindihan ang last part ng sinabi niya ay nagawa kong tumango.

He was about to kiss me nang dumating si Kahil, he looks in hurry. I heard Kaiden groaned.

"Alpha, mahal na prinsesa, may nag aaway na lycan at bampira sa labas ng palasyo." Aniya kaya agad kaming nagtinginan ni Kaiden, tila konektado ang utak namin at sabay kaming lumabas.
