C~12: Over Come Fear

I fumble over another branch and stand up weakly. I hear Paul laugh and Sam sighs behind me "A couple days ago you were doing great now you're falling over your own feet."

I lean against a tree branch where they look and stare "What?" I ask. Paul goes over to my bag and pulls out a small mirror I take it and look at my face, I was very pale and dark circles ran under my eyes.

I haven't been feeling so good ever since the guys put up safety sets for me so my smell, which I found out they can smell and also disappears around me, will be nulled out. They covered my skylight and regular curtains with wood so no more nights under the moon.

But ever since, I've been looking terrible!

Sam hands me my bag "Head over to Emily's she can check over you."

I nod and begin my slow trek over to her house. When I knock on the door Emily sighs at my appearance "Poor thing." she says giving me a hug and bringing me inside. I sit on one of the high chairs and run a hand through my hair.

"I don't know what's wrong with me," I say, Emily slides me a glass of water with some lemon in it, the citrus fills my senses waking me up even more. 

"WHOOP!!"

Emily and I look up to see Embry and Jared. Emily smiles as they walk in "You guys hungry? Like I have to ask..."

Just then Bella walks in behind them tentatively. I nod my head as Bella looks to be surprised as well "Who's this?" ask Emily, I smirk "Bella Swan, who else." I state as Jared and Embry beeline for the muffins.

Emily nods "So you're the outside vampire girl."

Bella nods "And you're the...wolf girl."

I chuckle weakly "She's just engaged to one." I say as Emily slaps Embry's hand away from the muffins "Save some for your brothers and ladies first! Muffin?" she asks. I hop down and take one, so does Bella but she gives me a look of worry "Wow, E, are you okay? You don't look so good."

"Yeah E's been feeling a little sick lately, maybe Sam pushed you into training to quick." points out Jared. Bella smiles at me shocked "Training? You're part of the pack?"

"A scout as Sam calls it." I say, Emily, chuckles at this "Leave it to Jacob to get around Sam's gag order."

Bella shifts a little "He didn't say anything."

I smirk "He can't. It's a wolf thing Alpha's orders get obeyed whether we want to or not. They can also hear each other's thoughts." I say, Jared, smiles wide eyes at me "Damn you, these are tribe secrets!"

I stick my tongue out "Technically I'm not held down by Sam's rule! Plus I have the feeling Bella already knows."

"YOU BOTH RUN WITH VAMPIRES!!!"

"You can't really run with Vampires," says Bella breaking the conversation, we all look to her in confusion "Because they're too fast." she finishes. Jared scoffs "Yeah? Well, we're faster." he says. Bella looks to me and I nod to pretty much confirm it "Fair tie. Freaked out yet?" 

"Hey not the first monsters we've met," she says. And as if on cue Sam walks in "Jakes right you two are good at handling weird." he says moving right to Emily and beginning to hold her close and kissing her scared face.

I felt bad for Bella having to see this. Their utter devotion would be a painful reminder of what she has lost. Fortunately, Jacob and Paul arrived. They laugh and jab one another. I put a hand on my hip and face them "What happened?"

"Paul phased out after Bella shoved him, then I took him down," says Jacob. Paul sits down embarrassed and Jared reluctantly hands Embry five bucks, I nod and sigh "You need to be more careful." I say to Jacob.
