C~42: No Room For A Human

I haven't heard anything for four weeks.

I haven't left the Rez for four weeks.

Of course, Emily's tried to make life enjoyable, but I feel like I have no purpose.

Emily pours me another cup of water. "Maybe you should go see a doctor, or stay at a friend."

"Why's that?"

"Well, we don't want to see you get hurt, the Cullen's have brought more than enough vampires into Forks already," she explains. Just then, there a knock at the door, Sam and Billy roll in "Eve."

Oh no, what am I getting blamed for now? I turn to them, "Yes?"

Billy holds out his hands as if to make the announcement more surprising, "Jacob as requested that you spend your time at the Cullens." he states. I choke on my water, "What?!" I mean sure he wasn't in the room when Emmett practically kicked me out, but I can't go back.

"With more vampires, more Quileutes are phasing, and with your...marked smell, due to Jasper, they might attack you...It's safer if you leave," explains Sam. What?!?! I can't believe they were playing; you'll be safer card too!!!!

"But I-I can't-"

"Eve, the boys packed you a bag this morning, just leave okay," commands Billy.

FINE!!! I jump down and walk out the door, I can't believe I'm being kicked out of here too! They won't even let me explain. Walking to the house to get my bag, I'm stopped by the boys. "Well, look at this if it isn't vampire chick." mocks Jared.

Paul hands me my bag and puts a hand on Jared's shoulder, I never liked Jared; he always had this thing about me hanging around vampires. Jared shoves Paul off stepping up to me "I say it's finally time you left, I've had to smell that bloodsucker's claim on you for weeks!" he snaps.

I smirk, "How would you know what a claim is, Jared? You've never had sex."

Paul stifles a laugh and Jared did not look happy, he growls shoving me back to the ground "You know I knew the only thing that comes from Billy adopting you would be trouble, that's the only thing you've caused for us...You're just a vampires whore!!" he yells.

Standing, I brush the dirt off myself, I wasn't gonna waste my time here so as Jared shouts at me I leave into the woods. Now what? I couldn't go back to the Rez, and I couldn't go back to the Cullens.

It was clear at the Rez they wanted me gone for a long time now, and maybe that was how it was with the Cullens. I could walk on the side of the road until someone picked me up, and as if on cue, a police car comes down the road.

It stops before me, and Cheif Swan rolls down the window, "Eve? What are you doing out here?"

Oh shit! "Walking?"

"Well, why don't you hop in? Bella said everyone was out for dinner, so I'm taking Renesmee home," he suggests. Looking in the back seat, Ness smiles at me and nods, "O-okay." I state, getting in the back with her.

When he means dinner, I knew that meant all the others went hunting, there's no other way Bella would let her dad drop off Ness if the house wasn't empty. Ness hugs me. "It's been a long time."

"Long time? Haven't been going over that much, Eve?" ask Cheif. I nod, "Um yeah, just trying to figure out where to go." I explain.

"Well, why not go to Texas. Isn't your band going to college there? I mean, that's what I heard last from Peter's mom."

My head perks up. What he just said was that in my dream?

Oh right, the band. Down in Texas? It's only been four weeks I can't wait longer, it's not like I have a choice. Pulling up to the house, it really was empty. Ness pulls on my hand to have me come in with her.

Looking around the place was the same, it felt like a dream being back "What's that on your shirt?" asks Ness. I smile, I was wearing the shirt that Hunter signed "It's an autograph from my hero."

"Well, it looks like a puzzle."

Okay, that I remember from my dream, that's twice today.

"Puzzle?" I ask, looking at it. She nods, "See, random letters are capitalized. Here let me see."

I take off my shirt, and she lays it on the table taking out a pen and paper, writing on it "The suns sHadows can tEll lies, wait for the moon to be your Guide, gRasp its path in a One-foot stride, come to the place Very hidden in hide, there you will find your pridE."

On the paper, she takes every capital letter putting them together "The Grove." I whisper. Then I remember the last heard in my dream, "This is where you belong, Eve, in The Grove."

"When you need a place to go, I expect to see you here someday."

Those were Hunter's words when he wrote it.

"And these look like instructions," states Ness, I sit down god this kid was smart. She begins to explain it to me, "The sun shadows can tell lies, wait for the moon to be your guide...That means you probably can only find it at night...grasp its path in a one-foot stride, come to the place very hidden in hide...easy to get to but hard to find...there you will find your pride...now that could mean a sense of pride or it could be a pride of lions, like a family."

GEZ THIS KID HAS A SUPER BRAIN!!!

I shake my head. "This is just a song, Ness, and I have to go before your family comes back."

"But what if this place is real? I mean, what do you have to lose?" she asks. Ness could be right the Cullens didn't care anymore, and the Pack didn't want me, Ness moves to the computer typing in something "The Grove, it's coming up as a shop in Texas."

Texas?

"Yeah, it's been hidden here in Texas!"

it's either I'm insane, or dream is my future!

In Texas, I mean, it all fits every word, and if this song was really a riddle, then what would I find. Plus, my friends, the people who really care for me, are in Texas if I don't see anything I could stay with them.

Taking my bag, I move to the computer, "What are you doing?" ask Ness.

"Booking a plane ticket, and I'm taking the car." I state, pulling out my replica key set and rushing to the garage, "What do I say when they ask about you?" starts Ness. I look back at her "They won't give me a second thought, Ness there's no room for a normal person in your family. So about this, you can tell them if someone asks, okay?"

She hugs me, "Okay, will I see you again?"

That I didn't know, but I wanted to leave Forks, I couldn't stay "Maybe." I finish getting in the car and pulling out onto the road.

There was no room for a human, so I'll just take myself away from the equation.

I'm eighteen, adoptive care can't chase me, this is what I wanted at the beginning to leave, and I was finally doing it.
