"Aro, I just want to thank you again for telling us." starts Carlisle. Aro smiles at his old friend as they walk up the castle's steps, the group was made up of the Cullens, plus Tana, Aro, Marcus, and Alec.
Each dressed in their respective time period and mask to match such. They watch as a human couple smiles and waves at them, walking up the stairs "Caius invited people from the town?" asks Bella.
Rose sighs, "Isn't obvious they're the meal."
"And they don't even know it," states Alice sadly, her arm tightening around Tana's. Jasper walked a little ahead of the group, Eve was here, he knew it and ever since Major and Whitman left he's been devastated.
"Jasper!" calls Emmett, he stops and looks back at the ground, his hat more or less covering his eyes "Yes Emmett," he answers. Emmett walks up to him, giving his shoulder a hug "We'll find her."
This gave Jasper a little hope, maybe even enough to get through the night. Joining back up with his family, another set of doors opens to them a lavish ball waiting inside. "That's a lot of masks," mumbles Alec.
"Spread out, search, but stay inconspicuous," orders Carlisle.

Skye taps her foot, looking at the buffet table. "Why even have a spread if no ones gonna eat it." she states, Whitman shakes his head "I'm sorry, but if you eat anything it's gonna be clear you're not a vampire."
"Then how come bloodsuckers are drinking wine?" she asks, Major and Seth saunter over. "That's not wine, no, it's not. That is human blood, which we do not drink," he states. In reality, they all now regret not eating beforehand.
Seth looks off to see a guard walk up to a human couple motioning for them to join a group of other humans by a door "They're rounding humans." he whispers, the three others look "Skye, and I will sneak in with the group to see what's going on, you two try to get information about mom." commands Whitman.
Major grabs his shoulder before he can move off "Hey, be careful. I only got one twin and don't plan on losing him."
The twins smile at each other, each hating to lose the other "I will come on Skye." he says, taking her hand the two moving off with the group of humans. Merging in, they're led through the castle to another room.
Every few yards guards lined the room, Skye grips onto Whitman's arm "Whit..."
"If something goes wrong, say we got separated from the ball," he whispers. Just then, there's clapping, and looking up to the balcony stands a vampire. Dressed in red and black, clearly, a leader, "Everyone I thank you all for coming here tonight, my name is Caius, the castle owner. Now, as you may think, this is just a costume ball." he begins and then jumps down with so much force the floor beneath him cracks, causing everyone to gasp.
"But I assure you we are very much real...The world you live in has never been your own," he explains, bearing his fangs, some humans whimper as the guard closes in. Caius raises his hands, stopping them. "My guest, I am giving you two options, death or a life of immortality to serve under me...You see, I have some guests tonight I need to take of, and Newborns would help in that fight exceedingly, so if you wish to become what we are, then please speak up because your other option is death."
His hand falls, and the guard begins to move back in "Your choice." he finishes walking out another door. Whitman hauls Skye back as the guard dives in, the scream and shouting begins as some beg for death and others for mercy.
Men, women, teenagers all bloody, all either dying or transforming.
What fight could Caius have that he would need Newborns for? I mean with them he could indeed win. Those were Whitman's thoughts alongside feeling horrible, making Skye watch this, but if not, their cover would be blown. Just then, one guard, a girl with blonde hair, looks over at them. "Oh, I see you've been separated from the ball," she states, her voice airy.
Gulping Whitman nods, having Skye stand straight. "Yes."
"Well, while you're here, would you both like a bite."
"We already ate beforehand." declines Whitman, the woman walks over opening the door behind them "Shame, please follow me. I'll lead you back to the ball. My name is Jane, by the way." she finishes not looking back at them.
Reentering the ball, Skye pulls Whitman over to Major and Seth, who meet up with them at the edge of the dance floor "So?" asks Seth, Whitman doesn't meet their gaze "Well all the humans are either dead or being turned into Newborns as we speak."
"What?!"
Skye puts her hands over Seth and Major's mouths "Shh! He said it would help him in a fight to come."
"Does he know we're here?" starts Major.
"Not likely, but remember what the 1650's couple said." reminds Seth as Skye steps back, "Huh?"
"While you two were sneaking around, we asked around. Caius invited the Volturi; maybe he wants to kill his brothers."
"Then they didn't need that many Newborns." states Skye, Whitman shakes his head "Actually Aro and Marcus are solid, so is the rest of the guard all having abilities that many Newborns would make sense...but then again you're right there were a lot."
The four look at each other as if waiting for something. "What now?" asks Skye, Major shrugs, "Wait? Ask around more? We can't do much until those Newborns show up, and if we run into any of the Volturi, they'll probably make us leave, sit out, or call dad. The last one is the worst scenario."

"It's absolutely enchanting." smiles Maira, the two walk down the main steps into the ballroom along with other vampires "It would feel better if I knew my head wouldn't be on a spike at the end of the night," states Eve.
Maria stops the two and looks at her shaking her shoulder lightly. "Enjoy this! Maybe if we're good, Caius will change his mind."
"You really think so."
"One can hope." she breathes as they continue their path. Once reaching the bottom of the stairs, Eve's chest heaves up and down, "You know I thought we would stand out more, my idea of balls was always black and gold dresses. Guess I was wrong."
"Well, you only really stand out if you don't dance."
Eve's eyes widen, and she turns to Maria shaking her head "Nope...really?" she asks, Maria giggles pulling her out to the middle of the floor twirling her around "It's easy and fun!" she exclaims spinning herself before guiding Eve through her first dance of the night.
