Finding Someone New

Prince POV:

"It's time to find another member for the team..." he huffs with exhaustion, standing and gazing into my eyes. He's seriously wants to find someone?...
I couldn't wrap my mind around on what he wants. Sure we needed a new player for a while but I thought we've been fine up until now..

"Why? I know that sounds selfish of me but we've been doing alright..?" I was so unsure about what I spoke and Eging noticed how I stated my sentence.
"You're not even confident that we're doing alright!" He raises his tone toward me which startled me since I haven't heard that in a while.

N-pacer was the one to step in and calm Eging down since she's rather good at that. "Enough Eging. When Prince is ready to form a complete team he'll tell us, and I'm sure he'll do it with well pride." She turns to me and smiles.

I was going to say something too her but Eging blurts out and continues. "But you also agree with me! You said you think it's about that time we get a fourth member! So don't play the high and mighty role!" That's surprising to hear...

"N-pacer? Is that true..." I mellowly ask trying not to get upset. She shrinks away telling me that what she said behind my back was true, stepping beside Eging and avoiding her gaze toward me.

"Just tell me I'm not mad, I want to make sure you guys feel ready and prepared...which I know you guys are..." I bite my tongue not wanting to say that I'm the one who's not ready or prepared to lead a full team in a battle.

They noticed my silence and read my facial expression.

"Hey, we'll stand beside you. We got your back in this!" Eging shows his confident smile with a thumbs up. "You can always ask if you don't know what to do. We're a team, we'll do this together." N-pacer also shows a small smile across her face.

I finally feel reassured and shows one back. Maybe it's time we find someone...and then we can start!

"Alright! Let's finish practice and we'll figure out a plan to find a new teammate!" I clap my hands together and then walk forward to start training again. "RIGHT!" I hear them both shout and follow me.

Practice finally was over and we planned to watch over our videos another time. For now we head inside to cool off and start discussing our plan.
Eging and I sit in the living room as N-pacer prepares in the kitchen some ice tea.

She brings them out and place the drinks down in front of us as she takes her seat.

"Okay now, how do we start this..." I ask looking at my friends who also have the same expression as me.
Panic!

"...we can always do what some of the teams we know do..." N-pacer speaks up with Eging following in with "And exactly what would that be?"
All fall quiet for a minute until I bring some voice back.

"T-team blue. How did those guys meet? If we can find a team that were just randoms at first maybe they can help us out by searching for a new teammate..." I explain as Eging and N-pacer show smiles.

"Sounds good. But I'm sure team blue were always some sort of team." N-pacer explains thinks deeply.
"Childhood friends, then became a team. So they're out!" Eging grabs a paper and writes their name down along with others and crosses team blue out.

"We all know how team yellow green was formed.." I speak in a little of disappointment. "They were just thrown together at random...Rider didn't exactly care who they were so maybe he isn't the best candidate.." N-pacer explains eyeing Eging to cross his name. He does and we move on.

"Team orange, Army?" I ask. Both shake their heads no. "Friends before turf wars." Eging explains to me with a sigh, we all know this isn't going well.
"Team pink, Aloha."

"Nope. All buddy's before turf." Eging said once more crossing the name out.

"Team cyan, Mask." I look on my pad researching him and his team as both of my friends think carefully. "...I'm not sure on that one..." Eging exhales, waiting for me to finish my research.

Dang thought we had this one.

"No, they were a friends before turf wars..." I disappointedly state letting my head hang low in failure. "We're not done. Team purple, Skull."
N-pacer asked, keeping her eyes on us. That when I start to think hard since I don't really know.

"Prince?"

"Yeah I'm looking it up." I search for a while until my heart finally beats with a perfect rhythm. Finally.
"Two members are childhood friends, but! The other two girls were just brought in." All of us smile at this news. "Then we go and ask Skull how he found his teammates."

"Yeah! Let Gooooo!" Eging scream jumping up and running to the door a little to excited for this. But I understand where he's coming from. YES! Let's Do This!! I smile and walk out with N-pacer.

We are now in the square searching around for team purple. Eging walks around asking random people, as N-pacer and I keep mind to ourself and look.
Then to our luck we spot them.

It's only Skull himself and his childhood friend.

"N-pacer." I tap her shoulder and walk over to greet the two as N-pacer goes and gets Eging who's still asking randoms and disturbing their peace.

"Umm...h-hey. Could I ask you two something...if it's okay..." Aviators looks up at me and he noticed how I'm nervous. "It's no problem. I was just waiting for Skull to finish his ice cream. So, what's up?"

So cool and collected !

"My team and I are looking for a fourth member..and we heard that your two teammates were randoms at one point.." I get out clearly as best as I could. I'm still Very terrible at talking to people.

"You want to know where we met them." He grins with a nice persona which relaxes me.
"Yes. Could you help us?" Aviators keeps on smiling and looks toward Skull then too me.

"We met Paisley and Stitch in some random battle. If you go into one you'll find a lot of good squids to join your team. I'm sure they'd want to." He explains as N-pacer and Eging approach.

"But you'll have to be careful. Their are a lot who will only care about themselves than the team. Get along with the squid and test them out before you shake hands." Skull joins in once he finished his ice cream.

"It took us days to find those two, but it took longer days for them to get along." Aviators tells us in a cool manner. "They didn't?" I ask.

"Nope. Both have extremely good skills and we wanted both so we decided to let them work things out if they wanted to be on the same team. Took long sure, but the outcome was great." The one with shades tells us. He looks thrilled when he talks about this.

"Find your new teammate in one of the random battles. I'm sure their will be someone good for the new monarchs." Skull stands and looks at us with his motionless expression. "Good luck." He then leaves with Aviators as we are left to think.

"...so, how about it?" I turn to my team who show excitement on their faces. Guess I have nothing to worry about. "Let's do this!" Eging pumps up as N-pacer nods resting her face, which is normal.

"Then lets go." I turn to the tower and walk over to it as they follow me in.
