When I Met You ( Laceless x Prince )

The Monarchs Decision

Back at the mansion where team emperor sits in their living room going over the people who have past the rounds and training they went through. Prince and Eging scan over the applicants as N-pacer walks in with tea and a few snacks.

She sits on a chair and looks through her pile as they are preparing to go over the squids. A minute then five pass by and now they want to get down to business.

"Alright, select the ones that met the standards for the team." Prince spoke as he places down ten files on the coffee table in front of him and N-pacer rests six while Eging has also ten.

"...okay. Let's go over them. Clam?" Prince holds up the file and shows his team as they look back at the cameras that play back his game. "He does have speed and agility but..." Eging takes over N-pacers sentence. "He's not great thinking on the spot. Splatted...about seven times in the first match."

"Passion." Prince pulls up her video and they look over together. "She can't stay focus, that's an easy one." Eging collects the ones that will not be meeting the teams standards. So now from this hour forward the team looks through and comments on the ones that have the skills and the ones who didn't.

Five hours go into this meeting with all three getting annoyed and fed up in general. They haven't found anyone that all seem to like.

"Cap..?" Prince pulls up his video as Eging and N-pacer watch with tired eyes. "He's a good person but he doesn't have that much skill...not to be mean he's just..."

"Constantly worried on failing...he tenses up and falls back leaving his teammates to the enemy.." N-pacer took over, with Eging snickering once she spoke. "Is that what he did to you?" N-pacer blushes embarrassed and starts to hit Eging but he also hits her back in the arm.

Then the two get into a fight, that Prince witnesses and lets happen since he's looking at the last two squid files. "What about Zekko?" The two who are fighting stop for a moment and think back.

"Ah! I remember him, Zekko he was fun. He always had my back and made sure he protected me when I used my special." Eging laughs and leans back in his chair. "Quick to think and was always by your side when you needed it." N-pacer spoke not showing an expression.

"What do you all think of him." Prince starts looking at his video. "He's collected and fun in battles." The short haired inkling smiles and chuckles.
"Someone that can be promising." N-pacer said her part as Prince thinks about it.

"Alright last one guys. Laceless." Prince shows the squids video to his teammates that watch closely.
Eging grins and stands up. "He's also pretty exciting, he came up with the plan to ambush Pacer." She looks at her friend, flabbergasted.

"Really! He was very much skilled with what he did. Used his special when he needed to and defiantly distracted me while he charged it up." She spoke praises his efforts and skills. Prince feels proud that they like him but now it come down between a vote between these last two.

"So now its Zekko and Laceless." That's when things got quiet. No one didn't know what to say or they just didn't want to. Both have incredible passion and desire for the game, but only one can be chosen.

They thought and spoke amongst each other as arguments were raised to their dislike, conflict and status where thrown as the new King did step in to settle the problem once in a while. All of the issues were boiling up as the three disagree back and forth.

That is until they finally came to a conclusion.

"Are we settled then." Prince stands up and so do his two teammates that nod in agreement. Prince walks out since he has to be somewhere else but tells Eging and N-Pacer to make the call.

{ here we go } Prince thought and walks away from the living room.

Far out into the country side Laceless is in his backyard fixing up his flowers as music plays in the background while he hums along to the melody. He's not paying much attention to the outside world he just wants to be here relaxing in the grass.

"But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really numm it up this time" he sang once in a while laying down looking at the sky once he was done with his garden.

He lets the song play on therefore still on the ground resting his head as the clouds make way over the sky, over his eyes as his imagination does its part by forming shapes in the clouds.

"I just want to rest here all for eternity until something thrilling comes along...but you don't what that for me, do you ma..." Laceless looks toward the flowers that reminds him of her. She used to always take him out and play in the garden, pick flowers and make crowns with them.

Such happy and simple times for him.

"I'll get somewhere good, just wait and see ma. I'll make you proud." Laceless smiles kindly to the sky until the faint ringing of his house phone goes off. Pulled from his joy he stands and runs inside hoping it's them.

He picks up the phone and can hear voices on the other end as they tell him the news.

"Alright, Thank you." Laceless hangs it up and stands in place for a while with the muffled music playing in the garden. He stands and waits. Until it hits him. He leans forward with his head hitting the wall as he now weeps tears. "I didn't make it!...."

He shouts out with the cry's still flowing out of his eyes. Resting his head against his wall, crying inside these walls so no one hears. Disappointed that he wasn't good enough for the Monarchs.

"I'm sorry Mom!...I Couldn't Do It!..."
