Keep Them Safe

The yellow sun inking lays down in his bed, resting his eyes for a few hours until his father then knocks and walks into the room. "Hey Laceless, how are you feeling?" The fathers tone was hesitant and uneasy asking his son this.

Laceless angles his head toward his dad and gently smiles up at him. "I'm alright..just some soreness in places.." the inkling groans lifting his figure up in bed until the dad rushes over and assist his son to sit up.
After he was straighten up the father backs down onto his knees and begins to shake while his head
Is resting on the bed.

"Pa..?" Laceless said worried as he watches his father start weeping heavily. "I-I'm fine...son...I'm fine." He lifts his head to stare into his kids eyes and smiles weakly. "I'm just thankful no one took you away..." the dad cry's out with his words.

Laceless nods and takes his hand, placing it upon his fathers head.

"I'm alright. I'll be here." Laceless joyfully spoke with his beaming, beautiful smile that settles his on edge father. "I know.. you're strong enough" the dad stands and sits upon the bed looking toward the floor as Laceless keeps his eyes on his dad.

"I'm just glad you're safe, your mother would be also.." this fills their air with settlement as they smile at one another with great-fullness. "I have to head to work, you're going to stay here and rest up." The dad stands up and starts walking toward the door but Laceless asks something of him.

"Could I see Prince when I'm all better!" His eagerness showed in his tone while talking toward his dad. "Once you have enough strength..." Laceless backs down knowing that his body will still crumble in pain if he moves with such a swift motion.

"Alright. Have a good day then" the father smiles and walks over to give his son a kiss on the head then pats it. He walks out of the room now and then the house heading toward the monarchs mansion. Laceless sits up thinking toward himself on how he even got here or what happened.

He shrugs it off as nothing and just decides to move around the house since he doesn't want to stay in bed. { it's a nice day out..I wonder what time pa will be back..} the inking walks into his living room so he can talk to the shrine since he has some news he wants his mother to know.

With a muffled gruff Laceless manages to sit on the ground and place his hands in his lap.

"I have some good news today! Mr. Prince and I went out last night and had so much fun! I took him to our old home town. He loved it there, we even saw Toni and Chilli. Same as ever!" Laceless pauses and looks outside through the window that's near him.

He takes his attention toward the clouds and can actually see them move with a steady pace. After a while he goes right back to the shrine.

"We...actually got the chance to go up to the barn. That's where Prince and I had our first dance...sort of...this dance was actually different from the other one. This one was...perfect!...I really do...love him. You would take a liking in him also!" Laceless laughs with a smile until he hears knocking on his door.

With fear he stands up covering his mouth from how rough he did his action. { my legs hurt...} he whines in his head as he shakes with panic. The knocking continues as Laceless makes steady way toward the door and peeks through the peep hole.

Laceless sighs with relief and opens the front door to see Prince. "Prince!" Laceless beams and leans in to hug the young King but his legs gave out so he basically fell forward without warning. Princes reflexes still were sharp so he steps forward and catches Laceless in his arms.

"Hey! I got you.." Prince smiles down toward Laceless as the smaller inkling looks up with a blush on his cheeks. He corrects his stance and steps back being a flustered mess as he darts his head away, being shy from Prince.
