When I Met You ( Laceless x Prince )

The Garden

Laceless leans on the wall, forehead still with contact as he now stoped weeping. He wipes his face and pulls away, still disappointed with himself while the feeling is crushing upon him.

"I couldn't do it..." he talks to himself walking into the living room to sit down and take it all in trying to figure out what he did wrong. It's just now quiet for him as he sits there, sorrow fills the room...

{ I really did want to join this team..even if I was just someone less then them. It would have been exciting to be on the same team....I would have been on a team....}

The light blue squid lays back, head resting thinking back on everything.

"Laceless, I'm home." It was the small squids father who walked in. Laceless sits up wiping his cheeks then face from any tear stains, now trying to ack nonchalantly as his dad now enters the living room.

"Hey! So? How did the try outs go? Did they give word back?" The dad sits down beside his boy asking while the small inkling didn't want to talk of this topic. "...y-yeah...they gave me a call..." Laceless spoke in a sorrow tone that said it all to the dad.

He caught it in an flash.

"Did..you not make it..." the dad now fears and worry's for the words that will come out of his sons mouth. "I did great dad. I Really did! I gave it my all, but I wasn't able to meet their standards! They just told me that their sorry and that I just didn't make it..I thought I could do It!" Laceless now cry's in his hands, as his father leans over and takes his son in for a hug.

"I'm sorry my boy. At least you have it your all like you said. I'm proud of you for that. Your mother would be also." He tightens the hug as the two sit there. "I wanted to makes mom wish come true..."
Laceless mutters under his breath to a whisper.

"Some time around, I'm sure something good will come. It'll just take time." The dad and son pull away as Laceless wipes his face once more coughing out slightly. "But anyway, dad how did your interview go?" The dad stands up exhaling then walks away.

"Dad?..." fear fills the young boys voice. "I Got It!!" The dad screams, cheering happy as the son now stands with a smile. "Really!! Dad That's Amazing!!"
"Not only that kid. But I got double the pay, and less hours so I can spend more time with you!"

"Less hours?" Laceless asked kind of worried.
"No what I mean, I don't have to work as much as I did back at my old job." The father explains.
"That's great dad. When do you start?"

"Tomorrow. But since I don't have my old crew I was wondering if you'd help me out." Laceless smiles toward his pop and nods. "Of course dad."

"Good. Now go get some sleep since we leave at seven sharp." The dad ruffles his sons head and shoves his gently away. Laceless follows orders and leaves the room.

Day light starts to show as Laceless is already awake and ready to go. He pulls on a jacket and his shoes then heads out into the chilling morning air.
"Hurry along son, I want to show you the place." Laceless smiles and picks up the pace jumping in the truck. "That's right you haven't told me where you now work at."

The two now drive off and up the hills heading toward there destination. "I don't plan on telling you until we arrive there." The father teases his boy.
Laceless sits patiently as he watches the trees pass by and can see the bright early morning shine.

{ never fails to amaze me..}

As Laceless looks out more he can start noticing certain things he remembers. More things start showing more and he now looks around remembering he's been around here before.

"I see you're noticing." The dad said with a smile.
"Dad...tell me were you work..." the dad kept quiet until they drive by some large trees that show a mansion in the back of them. Laceless now definitely remember the tower trees.

"Dad No Way!" Laceless nearly shouts as he looks amazed at the Monarch mansion. Eyes beaming bright as he can see other servants outside starting on there day. "You work here!!" The truck now rolls to a stop once they arrive at the spot their supposed to park at.

"Yeah. I wanted this to be a surprise. Are you?"
"Heck Yeah Dad!" Laceless turns to his father and then starts unloading the truck and walking to the area where they can place their things.

"Let's start." Laceless father spoke as they now get to work starting the day.

Time moves by as it now reaches ten O'clock. Laceless is working in front of the household where he plants in some new flowers that the masters of the Mansion wanted. "I want to scream from the roof top, no this ain't the end..." Laceless sings softly digging his fingers in the dirt.

"Oh cause we won't be stopping till our tires reach the sand~" he picks up his bucket and walks around the house to plant more flowers along the side.
Making way to the back he then finds himself stumbling upon a team meeting.

He ducks away and hides his appearance from the monarchs that turned him down. { what are they doing out here? I thought they'd have a meeting inside } Laceless sneaks closer and hides behind a bush listening on what the three are talking of.

"Late. I thought you told him the time." N-pacer spoke sternly toward Eging. "I Did. He just might have something going on." The boy spoke huffing irritated toward his friend.

"Alright enough guys. He's late we'll just give him a call." The new King spoke. Laceless was going to lean in more but luck wasn't his special weapon. He tripped and fell in a near by bush.

{ oh cod dang It!... }

He wrestles around trying to break free but someone grabs his wrist and pulls him out. "Kid you alright?" Laceless father asked pulling him out of the bush.
"Thanks dad..." he embarrassedly said toward his pop. "You two okay?" A curious tone was then heard behind Laceless. But the voice belonged to someone he knows. Well...someone he met.

"Morning sir." Laceless father bows toward the person who spoke. Laceless hesitantly turns around and then can see it's the King. "Hello." Prince spoke softly too Laceless. { oh cod. } the light blue squid then passes out onto the floor from embarrassment.

"Oh Cod!"
